Blackhawks win 2-1, taking the series to 2-2. Looks to me like it's going to go the full seven games.

These Stanley Cup competitions are a real test of stamina for the players (and the viewers!)

Yes Chicago’s big names started to show last night, after a goalless first period Chicago captain Johnathan Towes scored (well in off the keeper) assisted by Patrick Sharp and Marian Hossa. The lead only lasted 5 minutes before Alex Killorn equalized for Tampa. In the final period Patrick Kane fed Brandon Saad who five holed the minder for the win. So that’s 2-2 with both teams winning and losing at home, who knows what happens next!

Antoine Vermette scored two minutes into the final period to give the Hawks a 2-1 win in Tampa. Chicago can now win the Stanley Cup at home on Monday in game 6 (which would be their third in 6 years), however we know home advantage counts for nothing in this game. The closeness of this final is confirmed by the fact that these teams have played 15 periods of hockey so far and neither team has held a two goal lead and each game has been tied going into the third!!

Congratulations to the Blackhawks - worthy winners of the Stanley Cup, the toughest sporting competition out there IMHO.

This is their 3rd Stanley Cup in 6 years - not too shabby.

So Chicago win the Stanley Cup for the third time in six seasons with a 2-0 victory over Tampa Bay. Now I thought the American draft system was supposed to prevent teams dominating but this is the third title for eight Blackhawks players. Duncan Keith won the Conn Smyth Trophy (MVP in the playoffs) and along with Toews, Kane, Hossa and Patrick Sharp are becoming a bit of a dynasty. Game 6 was settled by a 2nd period strike from Keith and a final period goal from Kane which gave Chicago their first 2 goal lead in six games of hockey and ultimately won them the cup.
