Another brilliant game of hockey, the ducks stormed to a 3-0 first period lead. The Hawks get 2 back in the second, Anaheim make it 4-2 with 5 minutes to play. Jonathan Towes gets a third for Chicago with 1:50 left and then equalizes with 38 seconds left only for Matt Beleskey to win in for the ducks 45 seconds into overtime!

....Back in the New York groove

Great game, an energized Rangers team winning this crucial game 7-3 with Brassard getting a well deserved hat-trick, even saw Lundqvist heading out a puck when he couldn't use his hands.

This takes the series to 3-3 with the final 7th game at MSG this Friday. Come on Rangers, let's finish this!

After winning in New York, Tampa just needed a home win to get to the Stanley Cup Final. They conceded two in the first but got a PowerPlay goal back to keep them in the game. A quiet (on the goal front) second period didn’t prepare us for the third, three goals in the first 7 minutes put Rangers 5-1 up and it was a lead they never lost, trading four goals after that to tie the series. All to play for on Friday at MSG.

After goalless first period the Hawks raced into a three goal lead in under 4 minutes during the second. The Ducks got a goal back near the end of the second and at the start of the third but Chicago closed the game out with two late goals to tie the series. So both conference finals will go to game 7 and all four teams get an extra day off after playing every other day for 11 days!!

Both finals go to game seven. The NHL guys really are incredible athletes. Anyone who has even been to a game will realise what they put their bodies through.

Come on you Rangers! The Garden needs to be a cauldron tomorrow night!!

Yes Tampa make the Stanley Cup Final with two goals in the third period to seal the win. After winning game 1 at home Rangers lost games 2, 5 and 7. Ben Bishop being the star again making 20 saves from the 20 New York shots.

Da Hawks really feel they are the team to win. Anaheim hasn't been to these game 7 winner-take-all finals as often. It will be a "knock down drag out fight" to face the Lightening in the SC Finals.

Johnathan Toews and Patrick Kane are the stars of the game as Chicago win in Anaheim to take their place in the Stanley Cup Final. The Hawks were 4-0 up before the Ducks got on the board and that was late in the second. The final period was a formality and the Hawks coasted to a win.

So the Stanley Cup Final will be between the Bolts and the Hawks first game Wednesday in Tampa.

A stunning mid-air backhand strike from Alex Killorn on 04:31 looked to be giving Tampa a win in Game 1. Crawford prevented a second goal for Lightning with 8 minutes left but then, two goals in two minutes in the last 6 minutes of the game, helped the Blackhawks to a 2-1 win.

A goal just over midway through the first period was what effectively divided the teams last night. Tampa scored the only goal in period one and then replied every time Chicago fought back, even when the Hawks briefly led 2-1 in the second. The final period again saw Chicago level but a PowerPlay goal 11 minutes from the end saw Tampa over the line. So honours even in Tampa now for two games in Chicago.

It's truly exciting. I was given a Blackhawks shirt (actually a sweater) to wear by a desk sergeant and finally starting putting it on before going out.

"Are you really an English Blackhawks fan?" I try to answer in a Chicago accent using the phrase "da hawks" but it never seems to fool anyone. My true answer is that I'm starting to become a hawks fan.

For much of the past seven years, the Chicago Blackhawks have been the team with the star players who made the crucial play in a big game more than any other in the NHL.

The Tampa Bay Lightning might be inexperienced at this level, but they have young stars who want to prove they can do the same.

Victor Hedman was that player Monday. The 24-year-old defenseman set up a pair of goals with highlight-reel passes in a 3-2 Lightning win against the Blackhawks in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final at United Centre.

Cedric Paquette scored the game-winner on a pass from Hedman with 3:11 remaining in the third period.
The Lightning lead the best-of-7 series 2-1 with Game 4 back in Chicago on Wednesday

After our first champions were dismantled by league strike and then a salary cap being implimented (who in the league would you over-pay given chance other than players on the previous champion) I'm hoping when Tampa win it this time the league doesn't decide to play on sand or add multi-puck penalties/overtime or some other rubbish.

Only tend to catch 3 or 4 games a season I'll admit but been good glory hunting again this last week.

It's one of my least favourite American sports but I can't quite put finger on why. Don't think is the 'low scoring' and live it's great....... but yeah doesn't quite live up to 'football or basketball as a staple watch
