As a Newcastle fan I have to say I've been surprised by the crowing of the Chelsea fans. It's a preseason tournament where the aim is surely just to give players game time, in a vaguely competitive fixture against decent opposition. I know Newcastle fielded players who likely won't play much this season, some who are off on loan somewhere soon enough, and some who we'll be looking to sell. I'm sure Brighton did the same.
No way to really extrapolate from this, how each team will fare in the season proper. I'm just happy to see young local lads like the Miley brothers, Anderson and Parkinson do well. Anderson and Lewis Miley especially.
