Home win,and the 15k left in the stadium on 82 minutes will erupt causing mutterings of oh fiddlesticks, we've scored why do they always do that whilst we're stood in the bus queue.

My results put us only 3 points above safety but in 15th. Everton go down. But, there are 12 games involving two teams below us playing each other, 6 pointer games. If I had time I'd do some calculation showing exactly how many points each team could get based on these games and what in reality is a 'safe' points number. May do this later.

If the Albion were a boxer, the team would have glass boots instead of a chin.
My mojo will recover when we beat Naaaaarich :lolol:

I can see us throwing away clear cut chances in front of goal and ending up drawing 1-1.

AS others have pointed out, given the form table, no reason why we should "expect to win" and Norwich will also look at this as a game they can get points from given our form, home record etc. Definitely a game we can win, and an early goal would help the atmosphere without a doubt, but sadly I suspect it will be a struggle and the atmosphere will be "tense"! Bed-wetters and Lickers alike will troll out the same arguments whatever the result.. (a 5-0 win proves nothing - its only Norwich FFS vs. A GP masterclass, give him to players to do this more regularly ; a 0-5 reverse : GP has to go vs. Give him the tools, the players are shot, this is the PL FFS; a 0-0 draw variations on the previous... I shall stay clear for a day or two if it doesn't go well!!!

Hopefully the break will have done the players a favour. The players needed a change of scenery and a change of voices in their changing rooms. Alexis Mac has spent a few days training and playing with Leo Messi - that's quite a step up from playing and training with Solly March!

Very similar - I had us in 14th but on 37 points and a GD of -10 with Everton (28), Burnley (26) and Norwich (19) to go down

I don't think our place in the premier league rides on the game, so in that sense, it's not a 'must win'.

Having said that, I think as far as mood, momentum, etc, it is. If we come back and lose or even draw (at home, against the bottom side with one foot in the championship) not only will fan reaction be more toxic, the team will continue their downward momentum, the break did nothing and the run will never end*. A win and the break did us the world of good. It's a reset point, we can face the rest of the season with renewed positivity, the monkey is off our back, we can play more freely etc.

(*- intended as an example of the hyperbolic rhetoric the negative result would engender, rather than a prediction of forever doom)

Season and career defining.

A loss will see a mass demo from the 234 home fans still left in the Amex at final whistle, with another 14 in a lynch-mob waiting for Potter (P45 in hand) in his Mercedes-Maybach to leave the car park.

:fishing:

Whilst a win will see 17,227 in delirium.
