gus has said he would like a 24/25 man squad. At the mo I think we got 34 players including 1st years so for next season, so who's stays and who's go's. I think i got this right in we have 9 first teamer's out of contract in Kuipers, Brezovan,Virgo,Calderon,Hawkins,Carloe,Cox,Hart and Forster then you got reserves and first years out of contract Pelling,Brinkhurst,cook,smith and barker? Then we got 4 that on loan that will return to perent club and 5 out on loan that will return tous. That leaves us with ten eight who have started a lot under gus or he signed in elphick,el-abd,navarro,murray,dicker,crofts,bennett and holroyed and then young walker and Mcnulty. So was just wondering who people think will get new contracts who will get sold and will try and get any of loans back.

I think that he will try to sign both Calderon and Painter and off load quite a few including Dickenson to Peterborough for reasonable fee hopefully. Possibly Davies, Cox. Would be suprised if even those out of contract who are first choice now are given a new contract. I see 5 or 6 players coming in so we improve the quality and reduce the quantity.

i would. you cant find many attacking wingers who can work defensivly too, usually one or the other. valuable squad player.

I can see 14 going - I think that Kuipers. Virgo, Hawkins, Carole, Cox, Hart, Forster, Wright, Whing, Davies, Pelling, Brinkhurst, Cook and Jamie Smith will all be released.

I hope we will try to give contracts to Calderon, Painter (if Swansea let him go) Brezovan, Barker and Lua Lua (if Newcastle get promoted). I think that Dunk may well be a fringe squad player coming through from the reserves.

With Walker, el Abd, Elphick, Navarro, Dicker, Crofts, Bennett, Murray, Tunnicliffe and Holroyd retained we would then be looking for , either signed or on long term loans:
an experienced keeper
a right back
two experienced centre backs
a defensive midfielder
an attacking midfielder
two strikers

That gives a first team squad of 22-24.

does anyone realize that george barker is still a youth team player who does"nt have a contract yet, as i think he will get one along with lewis dunk

Lewis Dunk is potentially quality. Seen enough to think he will be in the first team within 2 years. Calderson is a must,Best right back we have had for many years.
