Interesting to see how Brook is targeted by the Aussies. His need to attack the short ball has been noted. And the Aussies have that as a weapon.

Less than 4 an over, what is this disgusting peasantry 🤢

Good recovery job from these two

Lunch, Day One

England 101-3 (26 overs)

Amazing effort from Brook 51* (52 balls, 10 fours) and Root 23* (65 balls, 1 four), taking England from a dismal 21-3 to end the session on top.

Lunch, Brook now 51 with TEN fours to his name. Root just looking on from the far end. :lolol:

101-3 I think England have just edged the first session. Anyway to bed and we'll see what is what is what in the morning...

If Brook gets to 177* off 153 balls which is 41 off 22 balls so pretty unlikely then he will average 100 at a strike rate of 100. His start has been ridiculous. He is some player.

My young lad is out there for all 5 days with his BHA flag and Seagulls Down Under scarf, god bless him. Very emotional to watch it on TV knowing my young lad is there yelling with beer in hand…
A lad in a Brighton training top just dropped a catch in the crowd as Brook went to 159. Was that him?

Christ I am tired. I really need to fall asleep. It was much easier when we were boring.

Fair to say I didn't expect to wake up to that score, having gone to bed at 40-odd for three!
