Good point. No tags,no questions. Thank you.

This is not true at all!!

I regularly go back and forth to the US and have been stopped a few times for random checks back in London.

Customs know what to look for and even creasing up and throwing all the new stuff in likes its been worn doesn't work. These guys are experts. They can tell you what you have and have not bought just by looking at it!

The guy I had both times was pretty friendly and I was honest with all my purchases. One time I had a holdall full of Christmas presents worth about $1500 which was well over my allowance but they let it go.

IF you do get stopped at customs on the way home be honest, in my experience as long as your not bringing back ridiculous amounts of the same thing to sell on then you should be alright.

Visit the Brooklyn Brewery. They have a large bar attached where you can sample their beers, listen to bands, have a pizza delivered and socialise with the locals. We had a fantastic Sat night there. Very friendly. It is in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn which is a bit like the North Laines or Londons Camden in terms of its independant shops and clientele http://brooklynbrewery.com/about

High line park - Genius idea
Magnolia bakery - Cup cakes
Peculiar pub - Beer (over 300 types)
Top of the rock - Best view (don't go up if you can't see the top of the Empire State building)
Staten Island ferry - Best freebie
Museum of New York - Crap
Brooklyn Bridge - Best Bridge
Strawberry fields - Not really up to much, but if you're in Central park
Brooklyn Brewery - More beer
Radio City - Rockettes Christmas show (going under protest first week in December)
Foley's sports bar - More beer plus there's a signed Albion shirt hanging behind the bar.
Ground Zero - It's got to be done (don't forget to book your vistors pass before you go)
Macy's and Bloomingdale's - Christmas shoppnig

High line park - Genius idea

Not in the Winter.....the high line gets the wind straight off the Hudson...its effin cold.

Bryant Park has a great vibe this time of year.

Check out Pete's Bar in Gramercy and Cafe Wha in Greenwich, contenders for two of the greatest atmospheres i've ever experienced

Any Albion fans running the NY marathon this Sunday?

Will be my 70th marathon.

Can't wait!

Won’t be competing but will be spectating for about an hour or so on 1[SUP]st[/SUP] Avenue and 77[SUP]th[/SUP] Street which is about a block from where I live. I’ve done it for the last 3 years and normally spot at least one Albion or Hove Actually shirt

K. When abroad I run in a UK flag singlet.

Bit cheesy but hey, when a Brit is abroad ......

Try Fatboy's restuarant http://thespottedpig.com/.

I had lunch in here, went for a stroll around West Village, Greenwich Village and Soho and then went back for my dinner. Very nice way to spend an afternoon.

For LCD Soundsystem trivia fans..the interviews for Shut Up and Play The Hits were filmed in this lovely place.

Went to ground zero today, very moving and saw Roberts name, bizarrely there was a family of four of which one kid had a Brighton shirt on there as well.

Very poignant and brings it all home seeing his name but also strangely surreal to have a memorial amidst such an enormous construction site at present.
