I have a feeling there are probably more cost effective options open to the club than signing Marcus Rashford.

Have a very vivid memory of Marcus tearing Ben White a new one back in the day. Felt really sorry for Ben. Marcus sat him on his arse a couple of times and scored at least once if memory serves. There is a good player in there but it's all in the mind, as they say.

He didn't ever really have the sort of chances on Sunday that he has had against us previously - their team is such a mess right now that they have no control over the game and they're thoroughly incapable of getting the best from Sancho and Rashford on the wings. They don't get them the ball quickly enough and against us we always ensured that we had adequate cover to stop them being a real threat. Even saying that, they got in behind us once or twice and Fernandes spooned one into orbit in the first half which was their best bit of football of the match.

Rashford is a pale shadow of his former self. It is sad that players like him settle for going backwards provided they get their mammoth salary, rather than moving on, get game time and play under an astute manager who will get the best out of them, i.e. Potter, Moyes, Thomas Frank.

Southgate doesn't help here, staying blindly loyal to players who find themselves at a dead end at their clubs.

Great save from Sanchez in the 2nd half but an absolutely SHOCKING miss from Rashford when that ball was rolled across the box to him. He had all the time in the world to pick his spot and make the finish, but fluffed his lines and allowed Bob to make a Peter Schmeical-esque save.

The Rashford of 2-3 years ago would have buried that with his eyes shut. His confidence is shot to bits.
