Ahh,the real crux of the matter. Of course nobody is happy when terms and conditions of their employment are changed to the employees detriment, that is only human nature, whether that is actually happening in this instance is open to some debate. In fact many people do suffer from changes to their employment every year, usually in circumstances involving their employer struggling to continue to trade, therefore involving redundancy or wage cuts of changes in working practice. That cannot be said about doctors, their positions are safe.

What really sticks in the throat is not the understandable knee jerk reaction to perceived cuts to terms and conditions, but the alignment of the individuals viewpoint to the accusation of the NHS being dismantled. This along with the manipulation of public opinion to this supposed threat to free for all healthcare is just the self interest of a well paid group of healthcare professionals being dressed up as their social conscience for the rest of the ill informed members of society.

The doctors are fighting for their own pockets, not for the benefit of the rest of society, they should at least have the balls to be honest.

thats not whats happening here, according to the BMA there just changes to the pay structure for weekends/nights, because they say doctors already cover all periods sufficiently. or are they fibbing and more doctors will have to cover the weekends, in which case isnt that to the improvment of the service for the public? as far as i can see those that will be worse off financially are those that voluneteer for overtime. i read some take upto 80 hours. obviously cutting 20-35 hours is difficult, but this is contrast to the BMA and general public opinion that doctors shouldnt work so long hours.

could this have been handled better? most probably, it seems to have come up rather abruptly, dont know if thats because of the industrial action and its been discussed for years, or because they have pulled it out of the air post election. would agree with the greivence to it being brought about so suddenly without discussion.

Last time I used one she was charging £60 for half an hour or £100 for the full hour.

But DEFINITELY worth it.

The choice is between believing Jeremy Hunt, a man who fiddled his parliamentary expenses a few years ago, or medical professionals, who in the main have foregone the chance to make more money far easier elsewhere, in a desire to save human lives.

I just don't know who is telling the truth.

The BMA have offered to go to binding arbitration.

Jeremy Hunt, the man who claimed that hooliganism was a contributory factor to the deaths of 96 football fans at Hillsbrough, said no. If he's got nothing to hide, why not allow arbitration?
