It's in our hands

All we have to do is score a goal a game and keep 6 clean sheets. Look at it that way. [emoji3]
Might as well let the players go on holiday, they can come back and win 3 games 1 - 0. Easy peasy.

That's not half empty, it's completely empty!

At the start of each season, it's in everyone's own hands to win the title, but no one says that, because it's stupid. There's never been a point this season where we winning all remaining games wouldn't give us promotion (including the playoffs). Any one of the top 6 teams will be promoted if they win all their remaining games, so it's in their hands. That doesn't suddenly make it any easier.

Don't understand that! If we win all of our 6 games, we are automatically promoted irrespective of anyone else's results. You can't say that for the teams below us as they are then reliant on the teams above them dropping points
.

Strike that! If Boro win their game in hand that changes it a bit.

"There's never been a point this season where we winning all remaining games wouldn't give us promotion (including the playoffs)."

So the teams just below us will win the playoffs at worse if they win all their games (including the playoffs).

The point is, it's not easy to win all your remaining games. So saying 'it's in our hands, we just have to win every game' is ridiculous. It would be easier (a lot easier) to win the playoffs than win our last 6 games.

Not really. If we win our 6 games, we're promoted, regardless. 'boro could still finish above us even if we beat them, but to do so they'll have to beat Burnley, who would then finish below us.

Let me try and work this out...
This is what the top 3 would look like if us, Boro and Burnley won all remain fixtures...

Burnley on 95
Boro on 97
BHA on 93.

However, Burnley and Boro play each other, so do BHA and Boro. This means a max of 6 points needs to be taken off those totals. It is just a case of where you take them off, for example if burnley and boro draw, both dropping 2 points they will be on 93 and 95 points. Even then if we win all our games we would be 3rd (on goal difference).

There are some big games to come, but as it stands we are not guaranteed top 2 if we win our remaining 6 games.

I think we are if Boro beat Burnley, as I believe they will.

Brighton possible 93

Middleborough possible 97 but 94 when they lose to us, 92 if they draw with Burnley, 91 if they lose to Burnley

Burnley possible 95, 93 if they draw with Middlesborough (we'd be 2nd, Burnley top on probable GD), 92 if they lose to Middlesbough (we'll be 2nd, Middlesborough top)

Note: This will all be redundant by Tuesday morning as I can't remember the last tme the 'top 4' all won.

Boro on 97
BHA on 93.
So we beat 'boro, meaning their max is 94.

Boro vs Burnley:
either they both drop 2 points, putting them on 93 & 92, while we're on 93
or one of them drops 3 points, putting them on 92 and 94, or 95 and 91

Yes we are. If we win all our games that means we beat Middlesbrough who will then have a maximum potential points total of 94. To get that 94 they'd need to beat Burnley who would then only be able to get 92 points- one less than the 93 we'd have. For Burnley to get their maximum of 95 they'd have to beat Boro meaning Boro would only be able to get a maximum of 91, two less than us. If Boro and Burnley draw they'd finish on a maximum of 92 and 93 respectively. Win our remaining games and we're 100% guaranteed promotion.

If we win all our games Middlesbrough have lost to us, so the maximums for the 3 sides are :

Albion 93

Middlesbrough 94 and Burnley 92
or
Middlesbrough 92 and Burnley 93
or
Middlesbough 91 and Burnley 95

Yes we are. If we win all our games that means we beat Middlesbrough who will then have a maximum potential points total of 94. You can all put it in your own words, but it's still plagiarism.
