Probably chose the Cup final (the first leg) im a JCL and was only born a year later in 84

What advice would you give Gordon Smith before the game?

Would speak to Robbo. "Don't give it to Smith, step left and put it in the net." Time travel is a wonderful thing.

Probably a game in the mid to late 70's when I was following the team but just listening to games on the radio or reading about them in the papers, before I actually made it to the Goldstone in the early 80's. Don't really care which game, as long as we played well and won, to see the likes of Ward, Mellor and O'Sullivan in their pomp would have been magical.

As a left field choice, I'd go back to a cup match away to Hull, in the late 80's.
For the sole purpose to count how many corners Hull had in the second half.
Currently, my estimate is at about 61, but that might be wrong!

Albion 0 Arsenal 4 - a strange choice but having been at Newcastle to see us get promotion we missed the first ever top flight game at the Goldstone as we were travelling back from our holiday on the first day of the 79/80 season.
