Everyone knows we need a new striker, but it's also a case of cutting out the errors at the back. Burnley have only scored 19 (conceded 19) and they are currently 7th

6 more than we concede in 6 games should do it . . . if the rest are 0-0, we're safe.

We don't need to score any more goals at all as long as we don't let any in. 16 0-0 draws will see us to 39 points and safety.

We have currently scored just 17 goals from 22 games, only West Brom have scored less (15).

So how many do we need? At the current rate (17 from 22 games) we will score 29 goals this season.

The fewest goals scored by a surviving team in the last few seasons has never been lower than 33:

16-17 Burnley 39
15-16 WBA 34
14-15 Sunderland/Aston Villa 31
13-14 Palace 33
12-13 Stoke 34
11-12 Stoke 36
10-11 Wigan 40

Just wondering.....how is 31 not less than 33?

3 points against each Stoke West Brom and Swansea and then draws will be sufficient IMHO. They came into it more with their substitutions and for the last few minutes there only looked to be gonna be 1 winner and that was not us although we had chances.

Thats because we made no changes. Bmuff made 3 before CH did anything and certain players of ours were running on empty tanks for the last 20 mins. Kayal could easily have come on and injected more aggression and energy in midfield. Hanging on to what we have, with tired bodies, on their last legs, is a recipe for trouble. In the dying minutes, Bmuff looked far more likely to win and rather than regularly finding ourselves under the cosh late on, wouldn't it be nice, just once in a while, to have the job done before the last 10 minutes. I can only think of WHU away, that falls into that category, so far this season.
