Probably. But I know that if I was to send such messages on a phone or computer owned by my employer, I would be in a whole world of grief, as would many people I suspect. This is what Mackay has done, it's believed. What you send using their technology is fair game for them to inspect, isn't it?

I would unquestionably lose my job if I got caught sending stuff like that via my work email. Or on one of their phones, regardless of who it was to or whether they were offended.

Me too as I am sure most people. This is the nuts and bolts of it for me. It's been done a work phone / computer. I agree that most of us would have sent messages we would not want made public. Think what you want but don't do it where is can get into the public domain.
