So presumably if he ever does sign, he is the direct replacement for Zamora (with the injury issues and maybe the occasional goal) but without the love?

I thought we were after younger, quicker and more interested?

We've lost two strikers and so we will sign two strikers. One was a replacement for Zamora to compete with Hemed as the target man. That is Murray, if he signs. The other replaces Wilson and may well, from the sound of it, break our transfer record. That will give us decent options up front.

Wow that's a low bar, care to tell us how many minutes each of them played?

BZ was fantastic with what he did, on and off the pitch.

Had he been available to play his part throughout all of March and April who knows how the season might have ended.
I do know the Albion were crying out for just one or two bits of skill, guile, 'craft' and composure at the sharp end of the season, and came up short.

I'd be amazed if the team decide:-

Tomer
Baldock
Murray
Loanee

was the way to go next season.
Isn't that the definition of insanity?
Insanity or Inspiration depending who 'Loanee' ( who may not be a loan ) actually is.

I suspect it should be Leo or Barnes.

I think the fact Zamora was out for the last few months has tainted memories of some people. Personally wasn't sure when he signed but thought he was superb for us for much of the season. Offered experience and quality up front. Think his winner at Leeds was one of my favourite Albion moments ever!

The goal in front of the North against Bristol City for me. Although when he kissed the badge after scoring at Leeds I might have shed a tear

a) There's not much evidence anywhere *yet* to suggest a Murray deal is imminent*. But we all know the club are sniffing around. As a Zamora replacement - why not ?
b) If we buy or even loan Murray who says we won't be buying another striker. We're clearly looking for two. Murray arriving at the club doesn't mean the other striker is a "loanee".
c) talking of goals per minute. Hemed's rate, just, was better than that of Ross McCormack's last year. Not sure why we're dismissing a striker who scored 17 goals last season.

*Happy to eat my bobble hat if he's waving a shirt around pre Tenerife trip

That was great too. It was great having him back and really contributing for most of the season. While Murray wasn't as popular at Albion, he had a brilliant last season with us and has regularly scored goals since. It would be a good signing and I'd definitely welcome him back.

Rewriting history. It wasn't just an ok goal he scored at Elland Road. He was also leading the goal of the season votes, until Skalak scored his beauty.
The goal against Huddersfield where he cleared it out of the area to sprint down the pitch to score. If you think that is just ok, I suggest you pick some rich Premier League club, as you'll never be satisfied watching Brighton.

100% agree. I genuinely don't think the Zamora signing could have gone better. We all knew he'd not be a regular & would suffer with niggles. 7 key goals from very few minutes on the pitch really... Superb!

Ooooh abusive and posting on a non 2010 thread :ban:

You're upset, we'll let this one slide

A grown man calling for someone to be banned for giving his opinion. You never actually responded to what I wrote just started whining. Tragic.

Should we sign Murray, I'm happy with the forwards, we would have two decent finishers, and someone who runs for 90 minutes. Especially. With the service from Skalak, March and Knocky. Not to mention Murphy and Lualua. Its the defence we need to focus on. Another half decent CB and RB and I'll be satisfied

2 on the pitch, 1 on the bench, none in reserve.

We'll need another as well as Murray.

Who says I'm a man let alone a grown one? Assumptions will get you nowhere. And a lack of sense of humour will too. That's 4 posts on a non 2010 thread now - it's one month for each post you know!

But you're clearly upset, so we'll let it slide.

Sorry, you don't get to call anyone tragic. You've done over 750 posts on another team's forum in about six months. That is tragic.

He's upset, bless him. Let's let this one slide.

I am sure that sprint killed the rest of his season. Not sure if he played again after that?

and if that other happens to be a stand out, exciting, 'statement' signing then we'll be well set up for the season.
Anything other than that, which is my fear, (a fact I think I've done pretty well in disguising) is tantamount to waving a white flag in August.
