It's called "Welfare reform".

Thanks for putting me right.
So it is nothing to do with administration cock-ups, failures to turn up for meetings with the 'social', fecklessness, wrong priorities, failing to take responsibility for own actions, always wanting to blame the Government of the day for their own shortcomings.
Of course there are genuine cases of hardship and those in need should be helped, but to bleat that it is all the fault of the baby eating Tories is complete nonsense.
The welfare system in this country must be reformed, as must the NHS.
Unable to carry on the discussion;got to go out in a minute.

Farage was a real disaster last night. He came across as bitter and twisted, just like his old and decrepit swivel eyes supporter loonies! Keep voting for Nigel though to keep the Tory Nazty Party out!

Farage has an incredible ability to pick up on something that many voters can agree with and then 5 minutes later shoot himself in the foot again. Sometimes, just sometimes, he says something sensible but I really couldn't vote for him and his party.

Just far enough away from LDC
Latest YouGov poll (15 - 16 Apr):

CON - 34% (-)
LAB - 34% (-1)
UKIP - 14% (+1)
LDEM - 7% (-1)
GRN - 5% (-)

Omg, titanic does have access to the you gov polls. I was worried you'd missed them the last few days

I was wondering how long the softie southern faux socialists (mainly made up of games developers, social workers and arty liberals) would continue to ignore the injustice of a tax formula introduced under a Labour government, which even now continues to drive taxpayers money from the southeast to the north? 38 years and counting........

This is bitter nonsense. Unless you live and work in somewhere like the City of London, the area you live in is probably being subsidised by another. It's how functioning nations work - the areas with high concentrations of economic activity transfer funding to those with low concentrations. If you really want to end that I hope that you've got a very well paid job in Hove working for a local company that doesn't require any inputs from anywhere else in the country...

Mmmmmm, One intimates our war dead in Iraq and the other a food bank. Where would you want a loved one to be in a grave in Basra or York city hall picking out a tin a food, I think I know where I would rather them be.

I am trying also to understand what are you infering? Are you saying that there is a food shortage in the UK? Or that some people cannot afford to eat?

If the former how can you not see the row upon row of food (with prices coming down) that are reshelved in our supermarkets every single day. If the latter, why are some UK benefit claimants (whom don't work) such as this couple from Plymouth highlighted in the Mirror (a left leaning paper by the way) from 5th January 2015 morbidly obese? I mean the bloke is only 45, doesn't work, lives off state benefits but yet is so goddam obese he has to go round on a mobility scooter.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/couple-too-fat-work-marry-4922866

They are not a one off either......

Here is a photo of White Dee "star" of Benefits Street that was recently on Channel 4. She doesn't look underfed and malnourished to me, as you seem to be implying occurs in the UK? The questions I actually ask myself is why (from state benefits) is she so fat and overweight and also how does she afford the cigarettes (a luxury) I know she smokes too?

You're clueless. You've seen a couple of fat poor people so the country cannot be facing a problem? . Please, you'll have to do better than that.

And why do you keep bringing up the war dead? It is wholly irrelevant, "you'd rather be in a food bank than dead". How profound. Are those the two choices we have?

Like I say. Absolutely bloody clueless. Educate yourself brother.

Tony Blair goes to war, with a lot of other nations, and the agreement of the Conservatives, I might add, to remove a murdering dictator.

David Cameron starves his own countrymen to save money.

Not sure it's obvious who's worse.

Let me correct you.

Tony Blair goes to war based on a lie. A war that was not approved by the UN. Nearly 200 British servicemen die, untold thousands of Iraqi's do to.

David Cameron is Prime Minister of a country where the majority of the population are actually overweight as per the information in this Guardian (another left wing paper) article.

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/feb/04/two-thirds-adults-overweight-england-public-health

It is also a country where there are many examples of some people whom live on benefits whom are sometimes fat and obese. As per this photo of white Dee shows.

You see the problem I face with your position is that if you are right...surely white Dee should weigh 4 stones and be skin and bones and in rags and not the 16+ or so she does and smoking cigarettes?

Last night too, on South East Today there was a woman from Gillingham and her delightful fiancee (she actually wanted money of the state to marry him this was the story!). Neither of them worked (she hasn't for 12 years) she was ridiculously fat 20 stones (I reckon) and she also had a dog (to feed to) and a flat and a settee and a TV?

You have not heard of the Barnet Formula then? The one that guarantees higher public spending in certain regions than others? The formula which its own author now says was a mistaken policy?

I think that was because for once no one clapped after he finished a speech....it certainly was not a biased audience, but there were NO supporters of UKIP there, contrary to the debate you hear on the streets and in local media.

Some people cannot afford to feed their families. Some people take the piss out of the benefit system.

I'm failing to see what your point is. I think you are too.

But if you look at a picture of white Dee and think "Wow, she's doing well", you are deluded mate.

A little bit of education for you 2/3 of the population are overweight (as per this Guardian article)

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2014/feb/04/two-thirds-adults-overweight-england-public-health

The actual real problem the (majority of this) country faces is people actually being over weight rather than underweight......including those people like White Dee (the man whom is 45 but is so fat he needs to have a motor scooter) and whose sole source of income is state benefits.

Tell me why can you get gastric band surgery on the NHS? (with a waiting list). Is this not absurd if what you believe is right? On the one hand people are going hungry but on the other hand people are having surgery on the NHS to try and reduce weight?

The formula devised to attribute the grant given to the devolved administrations of Wales, Scotland and NI that has nothing to do with public spending in regions, just those with devolved powers, that one?
