Is Dale Stephens not a bad shout? Barely plays for Burnley, at 32 and a central midfielder he fits the bill.

But then he did always want to return up north, and he could surely still comfortably play championship football. Scratch that (for a couple of seasons).

Nah, can't think of any ex-players, around 33-34 years old, centre mid, only really good enough for league 1 who would prefer this to playing league football.

Actually, a thought, Jamie Murphy, out of contract at Hibs in the summer when he turns 33, always was a solid pro. Yeah, if its an ex-Brighton player who gets the gig, that's where my money is

Coaching from the sidelines is one thing but the added value in having someone on the pitch modelling what is being asked of people is a huge bonus. I think we will add someone into the role

Not easy to find one though. Lots of requirements: needs to be a decent coach, a model professional, leader on the pitch, live/want to move to the surroundings and also be a fairly decent player because the U23 PL level is quite good.

Pascal Gross is out of contract this summer so can change into U23s coaching. He can teach them all his wonderful Gross turn,

Andrea Orlandi had to retire a few years ago because of a heart problem. He is a pundit on Spanish tv now.

Nah, he's more articulate than that. Remember 'procrastination is the thief of time'?

He's on LaLigaTV

Hope he's well. If his writings whilst at Blackpool were anything to go by, he probably does a pretty good job as a pundit.

Didn't someone here do a Youtube interview with him a few years ago? It was very good; he was very good, charming and articulate. I bet he's doing very well en su casa española.
