London Midland dont run to Nottingham so how could you do that ? East Midlands Trains only, no idea if East Coast to Grantham, then EMT to Nottingham is cheaper though, maybe try that.

Have to say I was struggling to work out how LM will take you to Nottingham unless via Coventry

Bit long-winded but can save people money if they haven't got advance tickets.
