In his prime, Gazza had everything. I remember opposition players trying to tackle him would either bounce off him or be left behind as he spun away or laid off a pass. He could tackle, dribble and pass and finish. If only he had had the help he needed for his mental demons when younger, who knows how good he could have been....Gazza scored 10 goals in 57 appearances for England

Beckham took every corner , free kick and many of our penalties for years yet scored only 17 goals in 115 appearances. He couldn't tackle, dribble or head.

Gazza's range of passing, everything instinctively drive the team upfield, a dream for forwards to play with, all so natural to him. A rarity from these Isles.

The England job, as you rightly estimate, would be wrong for G-POTT.
I felt this when he was still with us but someone at the club said recently that all involved (Brighton and the FA) were surprised that he moved to Chelsea as the groundwork had been laid for him to become the next England manager. It could still happen of course but the Chelsea move has been seen as a big gamble on that future.
