Herr Tubthumper, please keep these predictions coming. Make sure you do one for REMAIN, as I want you to get the hatrick.

Looks like another bad night for Labour. Bad in Scotland. Bad in Wales. Bad in England. The incumbent government nearly always do bad in these elections, but still Labour under Corbyn are seen as a joke. Forget what the left-wingers say, he's unelectable.
Correct

They haven't announced who the winner of the mayoral election is yet.

True, but the title "First we take London!" implies the start of a Lbour revival. Under the circumstances (i.e. the mistakes made by the Tories and them being the current government which usually gets bad results), this is so far from a victory for Labour, no one in the right mind could try to dress this up as being a success.

Beaten to 3rd place in Scotland and being the first opposition in 30 years not to gain ground on council seats in local elections is not ideal.

I totally agree but given all the Controversy surrounding Labour at the moment, at least it's a step in the right direction in the eyes of the voters.

London is a playground for minority Parties. After all Ken Livingstone actually won while standing as an Independent Candidate

Sadly not poor enough for anybody to listen and understand enough to make a move against him

And with Khan likely to win, it probably means Corbyn will take Labour into the 2020 election with McDonnell (!!) as his shadow chancellor. The UK deserves so much better.

Labour path to Government

Tory civil war over Europe, numerous unpopular policies and u turns = open goal

First we take London!

Then finish 3rd behind the Tories in Scotland

Lose seats in England

Share of the vote drops 7% in Wales

Corbyn limps on with some (unbelievably) still thinking he is the answer

Meanwhile down at Tory Central Office :O

Goldsmith was a toxic candidate, literally anybody could have stood against him (even Ken livingstone) and won

Off all the extraordinary results.. this one takes the cake. Have Labour ever formed a government in Westminster that wasn't propped up by dozens of Scottish MPs?
I think historically until the seventies, Scotland was more Tory.

A few steps backwards is a step in the right direction?

I was more referring to the fact that they had been slaughtered in the press and on TV news over the Anti Semitic row that this could have been a whole lot worse since that row ran right into the very day of the Elections. The Press made sure of that.

Nope. I thought the one (and only) possible benefit of Corbyn winning the Leadership was regaining some votes in Scotland with a bit of Red blooded Socialism instead The Tories are now the official opposition in Scotland!

Latest realistic appraisal in from the Shadow cabinet ... 'results are steady progress ... on track to win in 2020' - Diane Abbott :lolol:
