Do you hate Valentines day?

I don't like it.

For the last nine years I've had a bird on Valentine's Day and it's just been an expensive pain in the arse.

This year, I'm single and it's still shit cos all my mates seem to have a bird.

What I don't like is the forced commercialism of it - I get cups of tea made for me everyday, dinner made for me regularly, hugs on demand and all sorts without asking for any of it! .... and I do the same in return, and just because I want to, not because I have to....

and certainly not today because some corporate monstrocity latched on to a money spinning idea that people will buy a card out of guilt just because they say you should and you're not a very good person if you don't....

Still remember a Valentine's Day a few years back. On the way back from the Priestfield we stopped off at Sainsburys in Tunbridge Wells to get some dinner. Just inside the front door were buckets full of ludicrously priced bunches of flowers wrapped in yucky pink paper with girly HEARTS all over it. About 5 minutes later they reduced to lot to a pound a bunch. And it was truly marvellous to see the look on the faces of those punters who'd got through the checkout just a couple of minutes too early...
