Make the ball do the work, it is always more effective to pass than run with the ball in the middle of the park.

Not much of Poyet's team left now. I thought see have seen the last of playing he ball out of defence against pressing teams. And against teams that try and play in the opponent's half, the direct ball is often all that is needed. Possession football is very useful at keeping hold of the ball as a defensive tactic (percentage football manual).

I think for over a season now we are classed as a mixed side, no longer a passing team exclusively. Not as direct as Burnley or as counter-attacking as Middlesbrough.
