Oh shit. My wife's working in that area this afternoon, on one of the previous demos she came home in tears. So if anyone's expecting a visit from a District Nurse I'm afraid you'll probably have to suffer for a bit whilst a load of wannabe-anarchists indulge in a spot of selfish gesture-politics which will, in terms of global peace, achieve less than the square root of f*** all.

Wankers.

Sarah Collins, 18, politics student from Sussex University and a support of students against EDO said she and other protesters had covered their faces with scarves not only to avoid police surveillance...".

Brilliant. So you give your name to a report instead :wozza:

aaah, good old Smash EDO. Great excuse for a bunch of tossers with no real aims to cause a bit of disruption and criminal damage. Wicked.

The Argus said:
Smash EDO is holding another protest in Brighton today to mark the anniversary of the Gaza War.

Why are these people celebrating the anniversary of the disgusting assault by the Israel nazis on the peace-loving innocent lambs in Gaza?

I've a good mind to not wash for a week, untangle my dreads (even though I'm white - under the dirt - and know f*** all about rastafarianism), find a black and red striped jumper, whine like a little bitch for an hour or so and disrupt everyone else's day who has a job in Brighton. That will make all the difference and show those fascist yids we mean business.

They just interviewed a girl on South-East Today and she said "The people of Brighton have decided we don't want EDO in our city" or to that extent. I am not sure she should be a spokeperson for the whole of the city.

I thought exactly the same when I watched it on the news just now.

How come I am fully supportive of free speech and the right to protest etc. but generally find the people who do it rather nauseating - bizarre.

I do like this.

"12.55pm Police are attempting to serve the Section 14 notice, but many of the protesters are ignoring officers and walking away. "

f*** me, sussex's finest are defeated by that hard-core anarchist method of ignoring the ob and walking away :wozza:

Maybe I'd be more interested in their protest if it didn't seem like they are constantly protesting the place.

The march has moved off towards Lewes Road. Behind banners saying "Blood on your hands" featuring red handprints and "Remember Gaza" the protesters are shouting "Smash, smash, smash EDO".

2.35pm Having gathered behind the factory on the open land, the police line opened to allow protesters down a footpath along the back fence of the industrial estate.

There's now a standoff with police blocking their progress along the footpath.

the protesters are now attempting to climb along a steep bank between the Forfars factory compound and the railway line but police are not allowing the protesters through

All very exciting eh?
