I half agree with you, but on the specifics, in this case, this is one area I don't think we especially need to strengthen. We need more depth at the back not the front at the moment.
On the other hand I have also seen rumours we're trying to get Colwill's U21 England partner Hardwood - Belli's from Man City on loan. But I suspect that is nonsense as well.

I think it maybe either/or. I am sure there is a rule that you can't loan more than one player to the same club in the PL .

However, I stand by my observation that we now have more depth in attacking positions than we do in defensive ones, so a loan for the Man City defender would be a better bet.

He was pretty poor for the first 40 minutes yesterday, playing on the right, as he has been most of this Tournament.

They doubled up on him and he seemed to lack the confidence to try and take them on.

Yes he has a wonderful left foot, he delivers a mean corner and his crosses are Beckhamesque.

But it was only when he switched to the left in the second half did we see him come to life.

We already have Mitoma and Adingra to play left wing and we're also well stocked for Attacking Centre Midfielders, which is Palmer's preferred position.

If we signed him to play right wing then we would need a full back who would overlap on the outside, like Pervis does on the left, and Veltman isn't that type.

That said, Ferguson would love playing with him as his crosses are excellent.

I don’t - we wouldn’t be looking Palmer or anyone like him instead of cover at the back. They’re not mutually exclusive pieces of recruitment.

Brighton & Hove Albion are leading the race to sign England Under-21 forward Cole Palmer on loan from Manchester City.

Palmer was part of the England side that won the European Under-21 Championship earlier this month after beating Spain 1-0 in the final.

City are unwilling to sell Palmer this summer but are open to him spending the next season out on loan which has triggered a frantic race for the 21-year-old’s signature.

Burnley and Leicester are also among the many clubs interested in taking Palmer, who also has interest from overseas, but Brighton are thought to be at the front of the queue at this stage.

Pep Guardiola, the City manager, and director of football Txiki Begiristain are admirers of Roberto De Zerbi’s style of play and believe Brighton would be a good fit for Palmer if he was to leave.

As a back up to Solly March as a right sided forward, I expect. Solly was injured at the end of last season due to what I think was a fatigue related issue.
If we had this lad coming on for the last 15 minutes of league games, plus the odd start and domestic cup game it would reduce the strain on Solly. Makes sense.

Yeah. He would really be a bit part player which would make it an odd move from City's perspective. As others have said the only sense would be as a swap for Solly and Goodnight moving in field more.

He had a running battle of petulance with the Spanish for most of the match.

Diving, faking injury, mouthing off. Caused the scuffle after the goal by celebrating in front of the Spanish bench.

Apart from all that he did nothing wrong.

Assuming he's a Manchester lad, perhaps even a city fan, I could see him going to Burnley. Kompany and Pep will have strong links, Cole will probably worship Kompany and Burnley is just up the road so he wouldn't need to move, loose his social circle, family etc. I think he probably knows he would get more game time there too.

I think it's important for Bunonotte's development that he is not pushed down the pecking order.
