Bought this when the Albion were truly skint and they stuck up all the shirts from the Palace victory on eBay.

Had to sell it nearly five years ago when divorced, so used it to raise funds for REMF.

Have managed to buy it for a second time, ees complicated but thanks to those on NSC who helped broker the deal.

Yep - modern Scalextric. The cars are, essentially, small computers. They know where they are on the track and where other cars are. They aren't on a 'rail' as such but still won't fall off.

You control them with a phone or tablet and there are in-app ways of fighting the other cars.

Here's where the first version was unveiled.

Obviously

Erm....possibly a stupid question, but I take it you can make the track slightly more interesting and/or longer than that example in the video??

Yep. This is what I have assembled with the starter pack. I will be buying extra packs of track very soon.

The track is very thin and connects magnetically so it only takes a few seconds to change the course if you have enough track.

FFS. I just watched the first of those two videos. I'll be honest. It was somewhat less impressive than I was anticipating

I only flicked through that but it just seems to show the first few stages which is where the game guides you through the controls before letting you loose on it properly. It is mightily impressive.

Look at the track from about 5:30 in this:

(Granted that would cost about the same as a large family home in Burnley).

Better. I can see it giving you & Papa Lazarou hours of fun (once he's got out of his Boba Fett outfit).
