A top, top innings from that man. 100 and out, a true legend amongst men, he will go down in history not just for his achievements but the way in which he was a beacon of light in the darkness of this wretched pandemic.

A very sad loss for his family and the country, he did indeed give the nation a much needed morale boost last year and will leave a legacy long into the future.
RIP Sir Tom.

To use a nautical term, Captain Tom kicked the arse out of it over the last 12 months. £33m for NHS, a knighthood, promotion to honorary Colonel and a holiday in Barbados!!!

If find this remarkably sad despite the man’s age and wonderful final year he experienced.

Whether he’d have beaten the pneumonia who knows but fighting on two fronts was clearly going to be an enormous ask for a centurion.

What a fine gentleman.

RIP Captain Sir Tom Moore, you have been an inspiration to so many and the amount of money raised for the NHS was remarkable. May your legacy live on for many more centuries.

Glad his family was able to be with him. He deserved that at least.
Great example of how an ordinary person can make a difference. RIP Sir Tom
