He will score goals in the Championship, £6 million (potentially 8) seems excessive though. Good business again from Palace unfortunately if it comes off, making profit on a player who has been pretty hit and miss for them and is probably 4th or 5th in the pecking order.

Didn't Palace pay £8 mill for him?

Good player at this level. Would not mind him here but at £6 million no way. Mental price. Some day shows intent personally think it rather smacks of desperation as no one else has wanted to go there this summer.

All those talking about him being overpriced, I'd actually suggest that is market rate.

The entire championship appears to be on the hunt for a striker, and there aren't many good ones out there. So when a half decent one becomes available, this is the sort of money he will go for.

That's completely bonkers.
Absolute madness

Would not mind him here but at £6 million no way.

Remember to bounce this thread the next time the complaints about Bloom's having cemented his wallet shut start up...

To save the Croydon goons from contributing, let's just summarise their inevitable views in one neat post (spelling/grammar intentional):

-hes one of the best strikers in the Premiership and were only selling because we have so many amazing strikers now we dont need him in are quest for Europe

-hes only young with massive potential

-you could of only dreamed of having him

-but we won't sell to you anyway

-he will smash up the championship this season

-he was a big success at selhurst park and not in any way a waste of money

-we don't care about money anyway now lalala

-Wilf play offs Wembley yadda yadda yadda

Does that about cover it?

Bit of a surprise considering their chairman was only yesterday moaning about prices championship clubs have to pay: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/33848322

One of the richest men in Britain, Steve Lansdowne. Find it hard to believe he's been genuinely surprised by the market rate for any player at this level.

This has all the signs of shit or bust for City.

You forgot, we love our ground traditional ground and we still have the best Cat 2 academy to bring our youngsters through.

Reported as an initial £4.5 million up to £8.5 million with add-ons (presumably few of which came to fruition, maybe a Premier League survival one). Expect they're making their money back or making a slight profit.

Have you accounted for 3 years' wages at £25k per week, to sit on the bench, in those calculations?
