If 5 or 6 (depending on the pollster) is average, how can no-one so far rate CMS below average?
He didn't do anything all game. No shots on goal that I can recall or beat his marker.
Was definitely worse than average.

Ankergen 5 - I have no confidence in him.
Lopez 8 - fantastic today Bruno is going to have to work hard to reclaim RB!
El-Abd 7- done well.
Greer 7 - done well.
Bridge 8 - had a great game, did excellently for the assist for the first
Bridcutt 9 - MOM - please sign a 5 year contract I will let you shag my mrs.
Hammond 8 - Best game this season I'd say for him.
Dicker 7.0 - starting to like him again can see him starting more.
Orlandi - 8 - fantastic game.
Barnes - 7 - did ok
CMS - 4 - waste of time starting him.

Easy son. Maybe he made a bit too much of it but it was a foul and probably a yellow card as well so he deserved to go.
You would hope that a ref would look at the foul and not the reaction of the player when evaluating what action to take so you can't blame Lopez.

What did he do to suggest he was average?
Not saying it was his fault as the ball didn't seem to fall to him all game, however, how can anyone suggest a player with no shots on goal, no assists & not beating his marker can be given anything above a 3 or 4 is totally blinkered

Ankergren 8 - parried out into danger area, otherwise not tested first half, couple of important late saves - from greer deflection and stayed big in a one on one
bridge 8.5 - chased lost cause* to cross for first goal, generally good performance
el ab 7.5 - outmuscled a few times, a few silly moments
greer 8 - good commanding performance, cleaning up spills, good late block in the ding moments
Lopez 8.5 - really starting to show his quality
orlandi 8.5 - well taken goal
bridcutt 9 - bossed midfield
hammond 8 - constantly getting involved, poor shot early on, a little slow, but generally good
dicker 9 - good passes, really pressuring their players when they have the ball
Barnes 8 - needless comical dive when could have perhaps broken through, otherwise generally good, positive contribution
CMS 7.5 - worked hard, generally good, but not involved as much as everyone would probably like, lost ball first thing due to being weak in possession, poor first touch ended an early break away, plays the ball a little too far in front of him making it easy to nick possession
Lualua 8 - seemed up for it, not sure he managed to achieve much, but still good
Hoskin 8.5 - Well taken goal, timed his run perfectly, constant threat after he came on. More game time.

Well I think that he did everything he could given the service he had. He didn't have any chances to shoot. And he did make a couple of good runs, very nearly nicked the ball off their defender to score, and generally held the ball up fairly well when required. Nothing special, but certainly not a bad performance by any means.
