You started it .....

Oh no I didn't!

Oh yes you did!

Oh no I didn't!

Oh yes you did!

Oh no I didn't!

Oh yes you did!

Oh no I didn't!

Oh yes you did!

Oh no I didn't!

Oh yes you did!

Oh no I didn't!

Oh yes you did!

No I DIDN'T!

Oh yes you did!

No I DIDN'T!

Oh yes you did!

No I DIDN'T!

Oh yes you did!

Oh look, this isn't an argument!

Yes it is!

No it isn't!

It's just contradiction!

No it isn't!

It IS!

It is NOT!

You just contradicted me!

No I didn't!

You DID!

No no no!

You did just then!

Nonsense!

Oh, this is futile!!

No it isn't!

Yes it is!

I came here for a good argument!

AH, no you didn't, you came here for an argument!

An argument isn't just contradiction.

Well! it CAN be!

No it can't!

An argument is a connected series of statements intended to establish a proposition.

No it isn't!

Yes it is! 'tisn't just contradiction.

Look, if I *argue* with you, I must take up a contrary position!

Yes but it isn't just saying 'no it isn't'.

Yes it is!

No it isn't!

Yes it is!

No it isn't!

Yes it is!

No it ISN'T! Argument is an intellectual process. Contradiction is just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says.

It is NOT!

It is!

Not at all!

It is!

Ring Ring

Thank you, that's it.

What?

That's it. Good morning.

But I was just getting interested!

I'm sorry, the five minutes is up.

That was never five minutes just now!!

I'm afraid it was.

No it wasn't.....

I'm sorry, I'm not allowed to argue any more.

WHAT??

If you want me to go on arguing, you'll have to pay for another five minutes.

But that was never five minutes just now!
Oh Come on!
Oh this is...
This is ridiculous!
I told you... I told you, I'm not allowed to argue unless you PAY!

Oh all right. (takes out his wallet and pays again.) There you are.

Thank you.

Well...

Well WHAT?

That was never five minutes just now.

I told you, I'm not allowed to argue unless you've paid!

Well I just paid!

No you didn't!

I DID!!!

YOU didn't!

I DID!!!

YOU didn't!

I DID!!!

YOU didn't!

I DID!!!

YOU didn't!

I don't want to argue about it!

Well I'm very sorry but you didn't pay!

Ah hah! Well if I didn't pay, why are you arguing??? Ah HAAAAAAHHH! Gotcha!

No you haven't!

Yes I have! If you're arguing, I must have paid.

Not necessarily. I *could* be arguing in my spare time.

I've had enough of this!

No you haven't.

Oh shut up!

Just thought I would try and lighten the thread up with the war of worlds over the last couple of days.

This is different, this will allow the relevant laws to be changed by proclamation, or in other words, just because Theresa said so, no debate, no approval required.
As you say, this is similar to how the law arrived in the UK in the first place, under the European Communities act, EU law goes in without consultation or approval of Uk parliament, the difference is that these have passed through democratic process at the EU Parliament, not just by three Tories in a mens club.

you're right that there is some difference in the reach to normal SI, the mechanism is the same either way, once an SI is in legislation it doesnt get recinded (Starmer's point i think). "proclaimation" is aggrandising a procedure that is commonly used already. there is no democratic process by the EU parliament, its a debating chamber that only suggests law and amendments, akin to our Lords. EU powers and legislation come down from the commission and council of ministers, a group of appointees. id rather have more input from parliament, the objection i have is this double standard that our PM and Ministers is less worthy of implementing change to our law than a foreign commission; it was good enough under European Communities Act but its not good enough under the Great Repeal act.

and, maybe, today we have a much broader democratic process: public debate. seems to have the government changing mind and approach every five minutes.

Not really replying to this particular comment. Just saying that you are pretty much the only Brexiteer that I have any time for. You remind me of that chimp that led the Planet of the Apes......Caeser was it?

Keep fighting the good fight.

Shouldn't you be on the school uniform thread. Not Japanese school uniforms, but more your type of thing.

From project fear forecasts of Recession and mass unemployment to this "This has led the British Chambers of Commerce to cut its growth forecast for 2018 and 2019 from 1.3 per cent to 1.2 per cent, and from 1.5 per cent to 1.4 per cent respectively." #slimpickings :D

Good to hear you are ok and can take the slow reduction in UK wealth, many of your countrymen can't. #youdontgiveashitaslongasyourideologywins ???

Still buzzing after yesterday. And, in the context of this thread, surprised the Brexiteers haven't been complaining that our FIRST EVER GOAL in the Premier League was scored by a German! How the hell did we let him in? I suppose you lot will be glad to see the back of him (and Bruno, Propper, Suttner, Knockaert, etc) come 30th March 2019. They are obviously taking jobs from hard-working Brits, clogging up the NHS, and YES - I even saw Bruno's kids taking nursery school places that should belong to good, honest Brightonians who were born and bred in Sussex. Shame on them :)

I should imagine they have enough money to go Private, they are also paying taxes so stop with the silly stereotyping that all Brexiteers hate foreigners. As you know I voted Leave, but my mum is foreign, so just pack it in and enjoy the win.

Couldn't believe it on the match thread.Thicko31 celebrated the goals by saying 'German efficiency'.What a tit!
I would imagine that all the foreign players would exceed the £30,000 p.a. minimum ceiling by a handy amount, and the only thing stopping them playing here would be Junker stopping all flights, blocking the tunnel, and blockading our ports.Him and Barmier are stupid enough, but haven't got their European Armed Forces project off the blocks yet!'EU inefficiency'!

Looks like the Tory £1BN bung to the DUP might well be in trouble

We need more Gina Millers to keep to corrupt lot in line.
No we don't. I prefer democratically elected people running the country (or trying to).

Pity she doesn't realise that the governance of the country isn't a rich woman's plaything. Hopefully eventually the judiciary will grow a pair and put her in her place rather than pandering to her.

Well there you go. I always thought that the role of the judiciary was to adjudicate, interpreting without fear or favour the laws established by Parliament. Nothing to do with pandering, growing pairs or putting ordinary citizens in their place.

I agree with you about democratically elected people running the country though. They're the ones to make the big decisions about our future. It's why Parliament exists.

Yes and also exists to listen to the will of the people after a democratic referendum voted to LEAVE the EU. Now I fully understand that a few of you are finding that hard to come to terms with but that is exactly what they should be listening to. Not using it to unsettle the country to their own political agenda.
