Has this been mentioned on this thread in all the gushing praise of White who some seem to think is already a better player than Webster? It is a fecking great step up from the Championship to the PL
Webster made the Championship team of the year last year, it now seems we have signed a complete liabilty according to so many on here
This is what was said about Webster in the team of the Championship comments last season. I am personally not at all convinced that White wIll swan in and take his place next season
Centre-back: Adam Webster (Bristol City) Rarely flustered, Webster oozes class, sweeping up and striding out with possession. Stayed fit after being bogged down by injuries at Portsmouth and Ipswich.

Yep true, he is on a steep learning curve with still areas he needs to improve if he is going to challenge. For example heading, a number of Leeds fans now recognise that he isn't very good at it and this needs working on.
Definite potential to be a top ball playing Centre Half, but he needs work which will hopefully be done here next season (if he stays)

Well - if we turn down an offer of £20M for him then arguably he will have - £20M in lost transfer fees
From what I have seen it isn't an obvious weakness. His major flaw for me is that he is very one footed. If you look at some of the highlights where he calmly brings the ball out of defence, he pulls some really cute tricks to avoid having to kick the ball with his left foot.

From what I’ve seen I totally agree. One of the biggest differences between the championship and the prem isn’t just the speed and intensity of the press, but also the intelligence of it. A team like Liverpool will know to show him onto his weak foot and force him into more errors. Not saying he can’t or won’t improve, but he won’t be able to play the same game.

Still amazes me that all top level footballers aren’t put through endless hours of training to improve their non favoured foot. The brain can be rewired to an extent so it becomes a more natural attribute, so why not?
I guess it would be at the expense of improving other attributes. It's generally easier to improve a strength than correct a weakness.
You do have a point though, and imagine if you could put together a team of both-footed players.
