How can we not even have an 'up and coming striker' in the U23 squad who can be deemed worth a place on the bench?
Are we going to have a striker on the bench tomorrow night at all?
It also pretty much forces us to play at least one of Hemed or Murray on Saturday, as we won't risk Baldock, which for a team so close to realising it's ambition is strange to say the least.

Hambo not involved with the U23's tonight, nor the new lad from Reading.

Perhaps one of them will be on the bench.

Hambo injured and there is little likelihood that Reading will let the new U23 loanee striker play for our first team ? ??? Not sure where Tilley has gone, perhaps out on loan.

If Baldock is fit, he'll be expected to play a week Thursday with Murray, so no problem playing Hemed on Sunday. Whatever our first eleven is expected to be against Huddersfield, there's no reason to risk them against Lincoln.

So if we are without Baldock then Towell is the obvious answer, or we go 4-3-3 which could work:

Stockdale

Bruno
Dunk
Duffy
Poco

Norwood
Stephens
Kayal/Sidders

Knockeart
Hemed
March

I'm not sure that works as well as 442. With 442, Knockaert and March would already be getting down the wings and putting balls in, or going inside anyway, so you're basically making Kayal the no. 10 with defensive duties. I think it's better keeping 442 with Murphy or Towell up front. Of course if Chris goes 433 he'll have good reason.

I'd go with Murphy as the no.10 if Baldock isn't available. Mainly for the running in behind and he has a goal in him. Something to be said for trying Kayal there though, he and Hemed combine so well together.

Worth considering, maybe not the right time for him right now though coming back from injury, too much close attention from the central defence.

If Kayal is fit then he should play as he brings out the best in Hemed.

Stockdale

Bruno
Dunk
Duffy
Poco

Sidders
Stephens
Kayal

Knockeart
Hemed
March
