Voice Notes by Yazmin Lacey is a nice debut album. Enjoyed this on a late night listen.
Bit of a bold move sampling the legendary Augustus Pablo on this tune though!

What an amazing, accidental discovery this was.

A bit Lisa Hannigan at times, really nice.

Really excited by the March release of Safe Ground by Sandrayati.

Of Filipino/Irish-American roots, she was born and raised on the islands of Java and Bali Indonesia. Her songs are an expression of inspiration and perceptions that reflect her journeys and beliefs in the world revolving around human rights, identity and love.

Out today. (y)

(Seeing her live next week)

Not sure if this has been posted on here or other threads, but The The stealthily released a few new songs a couple of weeks ago, giving me hope for a new album/tour.

A tad more mainstream but a stunning return from Natalie Merchant after a difficult time with a degenerative spinal disease and subsequently her voice.

Love the phrase "Merchant’s gift is that her songs are not always comfortable listening, but they are comforting."

Keep Your Courage

Bootiful stuff.

Have only given it one listen, but London Brew appeals immensely. It is a re-working of the Miles Davis classic, showcasing the delicious talent that is the current London jazz scene. It captures the feel, intensity and exuberance of Bitches Brew, but in an entirely new way.

April's tunes.

Playlist:
1. Yossari Baby - The Wheel
(Foot tapping electronic indie popper that references Cantona's famous trawler quote in the lyrics)
2. Lunge - Heavy Golden Swim
(Dance punk with an infectious melody)
3. The Orielles - Tableau 002
(Essentially a remix of their last album though the band take samples from different tracks, run it through electronic plug ins and randomly reassemble them in different songs)
4. Uh - Humanus
(Off kilter electronic pop)
5. DJ Black Low - Drive Through
(Smooth, rhythmic and laid back beats from South Africa )
6. Kabeaushe - Pottasium
(R & B from Kenya with some surprising little turns)
7. Yunna - Aki
(Beats heavy banger with dollops of jungle and hardcore dance)
8. Busted Head Racket - Clowning
(Jaunty Australian new wavey number)
9. Lorelle Meets the Obsolete - Dinamo
(Precursor to 6th album where the duo start moving away from psychedelic shoegaze towards a more meatier post punk sound)
10. Divide and Dissolve - Blood Quantum
(New single provides more of the same; doom metal with added saxophones)
11.Omen - Cyborg Barbie
(Avant garde electronica )
12. Fatima Al Qadari - Fidelik
(Fusing experimental electronica with traditional Arabic laments that is not a million miles away from Vangelis' soundtrack to Bladerunner )
13. Dania - Foreign Body
(Mixing field recordings, samples of Iraqi music, vocalisation and cinematic scores to muse on growing up as a cultural outsider )
14. Mandy, Indiana - Pinking Shears
(Manchester band with French lead singer vocalising over a clanging that sounds like a tin can being thrown against corrugated iron.)
15. Sightless Pit featuring Midwife - Resin on a Knife
(Two members of noise metal band The Body dispense with the guitars but not the sinister husky vocals, and replace with dubby cinematic electronica and soft female vocals as a counterpoint)

Pick of the month

I'm loving this

I reckon @big nuts @Weststander @Guinness Boy and @Pogue Mahone (and any other middle-aged ravers out there) might like this.

Hi,

I'd never heard of them, thanks for the heads up and so perusing their tracks now.

This is bloody amazing :rave: :

@Harry Wilson's tackle .... your cup of tea?
