Best:
Killing Joke,
New Model Army.

The Smiths and Echo and the Bunnymen were by far the worst, most pompous, overrated and pretentious bands ever. Don't listen to the vast majority of people on this thread who seem to disagree with this view.

Over there
Being a hip hop head I'd say public enemy by a country mile. But if your talking charts I loved madness.
Worst has to go to black lace or Kajagoogoo. Or any shite trying to leech off the new hip hop popularity like vanilla ice or m.c hammer.

The Beat, Teardrop Explodes, Madness, The Specials all great but the overall winner is between The Clash and The Jam

Though not an 80s teen:
Best: Howard Jones, Flock (as we, in the trade, called 'em), and how good were Soft Cell. Tainted Love EP a thing of beauty.

Worst: Go-go's, Bangles, (though it must be said I had dinner once with Suzie Hoffs  and her Dad in Malibu).

What decade was that wretched, wretched Smurfs hit? :annoyed:

The Police, Spandau Ballet, Human League - was the 80's really that bad? apart from the outfits

The 80's was a complete mash up where music is concerned - such a diverse era - I think that's what made it so special.

The 90's was dominated by dance music which I have to say i love too!!! Can't beat a bit of sash!!!!
