F@cking shambles. 70-odd for 5 when a journeyman like Bresnan made over 50 on his own? Trash and a well deserved relegation beckons.

although it pains me, I have to whole-heartedly agree.

Lunch, day 4.

Sussex 88-5 (25 overs)

Yardy 15* Brown 16*

67 overs remaining, 221 runs required, 5 wickets... all four results are possible, but one is looking rather likely :(

Ben Brown 12*, bring up his 1000 runs for the season :clap2:

Sussex 75-5

Good players should be getting 1500-plus, particularly when the bowling unit is poor and your team doesn't tend to win by an innings or easily so you tend to get 2 knocks per game. List of highest run scorers in Div 1 this season just goes to show just how poor CC batting is in general. The test team is going to depend on spotting young talent early and removing it from this shambles to learn the game at a better level.

25 overs in and the new ball effects will be wearing off. If Yardy and Brown can get a partnership going and just tick it down ten runs at a time then this could still be interesting...

Yardy/Brown partnership = adds another 92 runs
7th wicket partnership with Zaidi = adds 65 runs
8th wicket partnership = 33 runs
9th wicket partnership = 19 runs
10th wicket partnership = 12 runs unbroken

The real danger will be the second new ball at 80 overs.

You're rght with your "all four results..." comment, but only because the word "possible" captures all outcomes that are not specifically "impossible". Loose by over 150...pathetic effort.

I admire you optimism. I think it's massively misplaced, but it's admirable.

Cheeky git! Serious question -WTF is Jordan doing opening?

Exactly that? Robinson is next to useless, daft as it was to open with Jordan in the first innings, how incredible to repeat the balls up in the second, when of all our innings's in history we needed to get off to a sound start, he sticks a bowler in to open.
