Just had 10 days without running. Headaches and coldly. Felt hungry every day, so put on 7lbs. Better yesterday. Just went out for 5 miles easy along the seafront looking at the nearly full moon, beautiful low tide and a slight wind. After stretching feel brilliant. Do another easy run tomorrow and Hove Parkrun Boxing Day.
Down for the Hove Christmas Day sea swim (quick in and out) but fingers crossed it will be far too rough.

Sounds like your batteries have been re-charged. I'll be doing the Xmas day PR at Bognor. Good luck with your dip in the sea. Great hangover cure?

Good stuff. Similar here, last week was struggling with a cold & chest infection. Hope you're over it, you've got a marathon to train for [emoji1]

Good luck PWA and to those running tomorrow. I seem to have hurt a ligament in my foot after last week's Marathon, the outside of my left foot is a bit purple but has been receding all week so I'm no longer as concerned as I had been. Rules me out of festive running though, and means Brighton Marathon preparation can't start until the new year.

I was hoping to take in a couple of park runs over Christmas but the foot has ruled me out. I'm an injured athlete at Christmas, nightmare scenes.

Good luck with that foot. Jesus at Coral's Stadium would apply his healing hands if no improvement. You may find it is linked to the hamstring pull up last week.
I am happy to say the sea is too rough for me today.

Happy Christmas runners. Burnley parkrun for me tomorrow - it's grim up norf. Then hopefully Hove double on NYD, one more on Saturday 2nd should bring me up to 99!

Pretty grim down south too today: well at least in Bognor. Did a 21:45 parkrun - I'm consistent but in a mediocre sort of way. Might try Hove park tomorrow, depending on whether I can scrounge a lift. (Knocky will you be there?)

My second ever ParkRun tomorrow at Wilmslow. Even given up my Brentford tickets as I have the bug back.

Pretty grim sums up the walk round the Dyke I did this morning. Grim thick fog and pretty winter images.
Mean to be there tomorrow for Parkrun but more inebriated than normal and ready for day 1 of the South Africa Test Series. Only tomorrow knows.

I'm hoping to be able to make the Hove Park Parkrun on New Year's Day - but it's very dependent on my foot, which I think should be fine. I want to do more Parkruns in 2016, so this is the way to kick it off! As knocky1 says, the foot injury is related to the hamstring tweak in the other leg, I was overcompensating but no real damage done, just a nice ligament bruise!

Will give Hove a miss today and instead tackle some hills locally. Good to luck if you do turn up in your hungover state. I too will be following the Test match if I can escape from my mother-in-law.

Planning a long run to burn of the Christmas excess tomorrow evening. A 12 mph southerly is about as good as conditions will be over the Christmas break. Plus I can rehydrate tomorrow after a drinking session today.

Anyone at Hove Park Run today. Numbers at Preston Park yesterday were pretty good around 290.

Saw Cook dismissed then cycled up to join 354 runners at Hove Park. 22:48 for me. Spent most the run thinking of Eric Morecambe dieing from a heart attack at a mere 2 years older than I am. Managed to survive. Got home and now glad I made the effort.

Couldn't make either of the Christmas Day or Boxing Day Park Runs so was desperate to get out today after a 5 day break. Weather was ok as I got out at 16:15 this evening, so ran from King Alfred to Rottingdean and back for 12 miles. 1:23:27 so pleased with that but what I thought were stones in the bottom of my shoes, turns out to be pretty bad blisters on both feet. I might have to consider reverting back to Brooks for longer runs but keep the Hoka One One's for anything under 10k.

Interesting......most people seem to use the Hokas for the longer distances....

Anyway, bloody speedy ! I did a 2 mile warm up, 9 miles at a steady tempo pace (8 min miles for me) and 2 mile cool down, took me 1:46 for 13. Good to get out after 2 days of pigging out though.
