Think I might have found a new obsession.

For a long time I've been saying that since broadband became easily available and kids had this ubiquitous access to all the music ever produced, we should start seeing some young artists who are swallowing the history of recorded music mixing it up and throwing it back at you.

Step forward Kiran Leonard. His gig at The Albert last night was fabulous. He simultaneously channels Radiohead, Sonic Youth, krautrock and Beefheart.

Lets Eat Grandma in support were very good as well and equally all over the place in terms of their influences.

He's great, I think I saw him 5 maybe 6 times in 2014 and it never got boring. I'm sure he'll make the transition to bigger stages with ease.

Not seen him before but also going for the first time. Think from what I have heard it should be pretty good.

It was a really good show. I nipped to Green Door Sore after to catch the end of Porridge Radio who I'm very fond of, she's a bit Courtney Barnett, she does angry/ depressed in a really charming way.

A tenner? Bah I pre-ordered a month ago with Resident £12 or something. What I should have picked up was one of his CDr's he usually sells but I had to run for a train.

RE TST, I've been to some of their stuff before, and am interested. Have you got a (non-facebook) link? While we're on TST, I see that it was them that brought Part Chimp down these parts -- they made a glorious noise.

Anyone on here having the big night if you're a hiphop nerd, two weeks on Friday, when Dr Syntax and Pete Cannon are playing Sticky Mike's, followed by a High Focus night (Dirty Dike, Lee Scott, Verb T tickling my near-plundered boat) at C2?

Speaking of such nonsense, Chali 2na was pretty magnificent tonight.
