God for a Geography geek this thread is annoying!

Plymouth IS IN DEVON! (not theoretically inbeetween the two - what on an island in the Tamar??). Kidderminster (Harriers) is in Worcestershire. Love the start of the thread - like a load of Village idiots shouting random counties at each other :D It's a bit tricky though with all these new fangled counties...

95% of NSCers eight years ago never used Google or Wikipedia and relied on Ask Jeeves

Yorkshire be it north , south, or west is not a county, it is a seperate rebublic which even had its own passport.
Ask anyone from there and they will tell you its true.
Parkinson is the president aided by Boycott, Bird and Titchmarsh.
Its quite a backward country where women in Saudi Arabia have more rights and men can do whatever they like.
Anthem is Ilkley moor bah tat.
They have 2 religions Cricket and orthodox tightarse.
A well known Yorkshire passtime is stealing cars and driving them at high speed around housing estates.
Its is not against the law to fly tip and storing sofas and white goods in your front garden is a sign of your wealth.
Moustaches are optional but most men and plenty of women tend to grow them.
They are not very good at football but they will deny that if questioned.

Not strictly on the subject, but is this the first time in history that there have been more Football League clubs in Sussex than in Lincolnshire?

The seaside.
On a slight tangent, is Cornwall the only county to have had (and still have) a professional rugby side but never a professional soccer side? I also love that the current ground of Penzance & Newlyn RFC (Cornish Pirates) actually has its halfway line along the border of the two towns. Do any grounds cross county borders? Was the notion that half of Shrewsbury's ground was in Wales an urban myth? Has this already been covered - can't be bothered to read through a 100 month old thread...

Chester City's ground is in Wales, but the car park is in England.

Like f**k it is!!!!! It's in Devon. And I would defy any of you to go down there and tell the good folk of Plymouth that it is in Cornwall!!!
This. The border is on the bridge crossing the Taymar - Saltash is in Cornwall, Plymouth in Devon.

is bristol not in gloucestershire?

WARWICKSHIRE
In old money, Bristol was in Somerset (even though it was is the home of Gloucestershire Cricket Club), but is now part of Avon -which presumably leaves Somerset as a county without a league football team. Again, in the old days, Birmingham and Villa would have been in Warwickshire - at least Warwickshire still has Coventry (sort of).

So - county without a football league club at least within it's current boundaries...I give you Somerset.
