‘Wasteful throughout the game’ is not the debut strap line that anyone would have expected. I hope for his sake that it only gets better from here. I have a feeling that the Championship beckons for him.

Fair point, people should realise that he is French and does not take lightly to being snubbed.

I do not hate the bloke, I want him to do well, but lets not romanticise the man. He can score the odd worldie, chase around like CMS with an arrogant French attitude, and miss a fair number of sitters too. Lets have a little balance here.

If he goes, and I think he will, I wish him well. Just wish we had moved to get a better model earlier.

I always want our players to do well, just there comes a time when the truth has to be faced. Bit like having a pet really.

Please, read my posts before getting pointy. That is exactly what I have been saying for yonks. He needs to play off someone else as he is not a man to lead the line. But in the same breath I will not defend him when he costs us points.

No one expecting him to score EVERY chance that comes his way, just a few of the easy ones would be nice. One ‘worldie’ does not equal 3 run of the mill misses.

If he had scored a few of the sitters we would be higher.

Just to clarify, I think NM could easily have another season or two with us in a supporting role. Mellow/Ward, Bergkamp/Henry, Son/Kane even. But I don’t believe he will want to.

I didn’t realise this was a competition to validate your previous opinions. A clock is correct twice every day but wrong for the other 23 hours or so. NM is an excellent support striker, we still need someone to lead the line.

Is Maupay gonna be the new Ashley Barnes? His poor goal return being lauded every time he scores 1 goal in too many games?

It would be great if they could, cos our top scorer ain’t gonna do it for us!
