Piece on Liam & Derby including a little nod to Brighton https://amp.theguardian.com/football/2022/jul/24/somehow-it-has-come-together-derby-ready-to-rise-off-the-canvas-liam-rosenior
Hehe, never read too much in to a pre season friendly - I once watched Liam Dickinson in a pre-season friendly at Burton (2008) and thought he looked a player. I was wrong.
That said, we won 2-0 today so are going to walk League One.
Cheers - Some of the chat is that we have Byrne on the right who is the classic modern attacking full back so probably need someone more solid on the left. Possibly.
Looks like Roberts will play for Derby today - It was actually a proper question above, can he play left back? We have 4 centre halves now (woohoo!!) and no left backs....
Yeah, that's kind of why I was less convinced by this one. One question though, to paraphrase on old friend, can he play Left Back? We're a bit short there!
I don't disagree - The point I was making is that I don't think he would displace Cashin so wouldn't be in the starting XI UNLESS we were playing 2 20 year olds together, which worries me!
Rushworth makes sense, I suspect he would start as number 1 but I haven't seen anything of him or the other keeper we signed. Roberts a little less so because, assuming Curtis Davies signs up, he wouldn't make the starting XI. Davies signing is no given I guess but then you'd be pairing Roberts...
Not sure if we can now 'buy' players but we've started signing players including a keeper, which is a big relief as I was contemplating buying the other half a pair of Sondicos (She's still really good friends with Steve Ogrizovic). All our signings are 'Subject to EFL approval'
Difficult to see how Hourihane would fit in to the EFL's restrictions?
I will take this opportunity to thank those who've offered words of support over the last few months, it's really appreciated. When I stood with you all back in the mid 90s, I probably didn't understand what it meant to be...
