Not really……even if they aren’t ultimately first team material for us, we’ll more often than not still profit from them. Same with our own academy - doubt more than 1 or 2 in 100 of the U15 scholars will ever make the first team, so should we scrap it ??
You post doesn’t make a lot of sense.....but as I suggested, it wouldn’t be unusual for a cartilage injury to be ‘unable to be made worse’ prior to an op so he was drafted in to play on that basis (when we were a bit desperate). That wouldn’t reflect badly on the medical team - it’s a reasonable...
This....it was a bit bizarre. This was pre the op he obviously needed - can only think the op was already planned and the ‘experts’ concluded he couldn’t do any more damage (sometimes the case with cartilage type injuries).
I think so.....he’s pretty good defensively (remember vividly his tackle on Antonio away at West Ham). With 3 CBs and licence to get forward he could be brilliant- with Lamptey on the other side the oppo would be shitting themselves.
Probably this........assuming he hasn’t lost his pace, him, Connolly and Maupay on the break against a tired defence would be a sight to see. With Lamptey on the other wing, plenty of defences would be crapping themselves at that thought.
Agree - would never accuse him of not trying. He gets sulky and petulant sometimes and has games where his decision making is crap (Watford being a case in point) but not putting a shift in ? Not him........
