I think Argentinian international Gonzalez was the player to step in and take over from the likes of Izzy & Knocky. The club will simply not sign a player unless they have the sort of potential we see in the likes of Lamptey or Bissouma unless they are a veteran international on the cheap...
I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out on his future career. I wonder if he can get another contract in Europe? Maybe USG would be interested in him on vastly reduced wages?

Looking back, I think Potter saw a weakness at right back for Spurs with Serge Aurier kicked out. I think pace and directness on the left could have worked well for us if needed.
However, once the game started, Potter had too many other weaknesses in the Spurs side to worry about.
Happy for the club to take their time.
