I've never lost on crypto from my original stake but have had things in my portfolio that I've lost on and in some cases to quite a large degree % wise. Diversification is important to mitigate risk but it's a punt, whichever way you look at it.

As I've said before, after many years, all my sitting crypto is built on profit; I've long since got back the original gamble and then some so to me it's stuff I can afford to lose. Everything is in a hold position at the moment and where possible staked but that's been the case since before...

I avoid a lot of these issues by being very clear on the market i am targeting. In my case infrastructure. Understanding the market allows me to balance risks and give me an idea of long term value. Gaming, nft, defi, arent areas I understand well so any money going in those direction is as...

Sounds like you're in a bit of a mess. I guess nobody is talking because a month or two ago ETH and BTC were significantly lower. This is nothing unusual at the moment, volatility is expected hence why leverage is in general not a great idea unless you are at rock bottom. Hence why I steer clear.

I tried the same, then Kraken introduced staking. In comparison its easy to stake and unstake and avoids a lot of the pain - albeit with the risks associated with keeping assets on the exchange. Obviously there is is something in it for the exchange too but it's been valuable for me to stake...

Kraken too. The lack of OCO is annoying but I prioritise the stop loss limit orders where I'm ahead, adjusting them frequently in rising markets until close to my exit point. Depending on how I see things going, I may then look to exit at a lower point or just wait and readjust again and exit...

I stay well away from leverage as it's easy to get stung. My trading account is my "gambling" but it's small stakes really. If I make money, I cream off the top into my longer term holdings (which I don't trade) I occasionally liquidate some of the long term holdings when prices are high and I...

on the edge of $4k. I've put a stop loss in just in case there are some large movements.

Firstly I go to the official website of the coin and read what the coin is about. I then look at Weiss to get a independent view of how established it is. I started with mostly established coins then once I got a feel for markets and products, i found a few more. Then it's multiple sources...

Read, read and read. Dont invest/gamble without understanding exactly what you're investing in.

I agree. Leverage is truly scary stuff and definitely something to steer well clear of. Any investment without guaranteed return (and I include shares as well as crypto in this) is a gamble and should be treated the same as going into a bookies and handing over your cash.

Still a lot of uncertainty in my view although recent gains are welcome.

What's the cryptoskeptic view on Gamespot then? I thought it was personally very interesting to see the financial markets controls in place to stop highly-leveraged institutions from taking a hit and screwing over the man on the street.

If you're going to buy Cardano and hold it, you can help the project and earn a small amount of ADA or support a charity by staking.

You need to bear in mind that a very large number of the cryptocurrency projects out there are running on ETH. It isn't going anywhere due to its utility BUT there are other infrastructure projects out there that look to solve some of its problems and may eventually win out. If you want to win...

I've been sitting on cash for a while after taking near the top of ETH and ADA. I went back in with a bit on the first drop of 15%, which in retrospect was too early but went in again today (stupidly or sensibly, it's too early to tell) Now you could argue that I'm 20% down on my portfolio in...

After Elon's tweet, Cardano hasn't stopped. Just pushed through $2 and holding at $2.14 so far. Cashed my trading account out at £2.02 as I was expecting a dip and to go back in . I wasn't expecting it to get anywhere near £2.18. Nice for the larger chunk I have staked.
