I've harped on about Cymbals Eat Guitars many a time on this board but I've managed to snag an early copy of their 4th album 'Pretty Years' and my word it is impressive. Indie rock by way of Bruce Springsteen and James Chance. This is Wish: Album released worldwide tomorrow.

Saw them support Titus Andronicus back in May and they were brilliant. They've just dropped a new single.

Really enjoying PROSE - Home of the Brave. Mancunian rap/indie outfit. Songs about childhood, family, young life etc etc.

Garbage have a new album out. It's a real return to form for them after releasing a string of 'meh' albums following Version 2.0.

Andy Bell had a stint in Oasis as well. And Beady Eye I think. Digging this.

Thus far: #1 David Bowie - Blackstar #2 The Prettiots - Fun's Cool #3 Pillar Point - Marble Mouth #4 Alfredo Rodriguez - Tocororo The top 2 are iron-clad, immovable works of joynoise. Pillar Point isn't usually something I'd listen to genre-wise but its really struck something with me.

Excellent. Love the Wildhearts, not too familiar with his solo stuff but I enjoyed that.

Get with the times man, I've been all over The Prettiots since page 6. They're playing the Great Escape this year by the way.

I have not been able to stop listening to The Prettiots. I can best describe it as Kimya Dawson meets Jenny Lewis meets a ukulele. Cannot recommend them enough.

Have been meaning to give that a spin. Shall do that over the weekend.
