Wow, Klopp did actually say that. Moises must be hurting now!
Good insight by the Liverpool fans saying that Caicedo would have thrived under Klopp if he’d have had the desire to join, rather than be influenced by his agent due to the agent’s larger fee.
I appreciate that he'll be on loads of money, and that may cushion the blow of not playing regularly, but I doubt whether sitting on the bench would have been his vision when he signed for £62m.
He won't play every match anyway due to Chelsea playing in Europe and the Premier League but I expect...
I’ve just seen Cucu’s ‘thank you Seagulls!’ Video on Instagram. Hundreds of comments underneath it, virtually all from Chelsea fans with ‘welcome to Chelsea’ messages. Why they have to comment on a message to Brighton fans I really don’t know.
All a bit glitzy.
Anyway, good luck to him apart...
£55m plus £7m in add ins is significant.
Colwill in on loan suggests we rejected the buy back which is equivalent to an expensive loan if the terms aren’t great.
I wonder if we have a replacement set up such as Destiny Udogie on a £20m purchase with loan back to parent club for a year...
When you look at Cucu’s Instagram account it appears that he and his agent are good friends. ( the agent was with Cucu on the pitch at the end of the last game of last season). It does also appear that Cucu is his only client and I expect that he’s keen to acquire more.
On the reported £52.5m...
Taking longer than expected. I expect it's complicated by the Chelsea interest in DeJong and Fofana, and the price we are demanding. When a club like Chelsea are trying to bring in a few replacements I'm sure it starts to get a very complex job to fit these purchases within the total budget.
I...
Martinez seems to favour Trossard as LWB in the Belgium squad. Potter has also used him there and he can be dangerous for us coming in off that side. However, we would need a strong left footed defender behind him (Colwill).
Cucurella’s worth is due to his versatility but I think we have...
From Twitter comments it sounds like this one still has some work to do on it regarding finalising the deal and agreeing the Colwill purchase on which there are some conflicting comments.
Yes, exactly. Ideally we wouldn't have wanted to sell Cucu this window, but City's targeting of him has unsettled him and now, on balance, it's probably the right thing to do to let him go. It's not as if we haven't had time to do our research on a replacement. I'm sure that we have a plan in...
Interesting if we have insisted on a straight cash deal. Maybe Chelsea demanding too much for Colwill, and there’s better alternative deals out there for us.
Hopefully we have someone lined up for straight replacement and the other money, or part of it, can also be invested in the squad...
I think that Cucu and especially his agent will see the financial benefits and Cucu will have the challenge of Champions League football.
I also think that Cucu will think that he's burnt his bridges with us now after handing in a transfer request.
As much as I liked Cucu, I think it's best he...
From what I’ve seen of Colwill ( only clips on YouTube) he’s a left back who can also play left sided centre back. Quick, strong in the tackle and can execute a good long pass.
I think Colwill have a lot of very good reviews last season and we'll have scouted him extensively. It's also been mentioned that we are his preferred club if he can't get first team football. I expect the Lamptey move / connection may have helped.
So if this comes off, in the last 12 months...
Colwill is the perfect replacement as the left sided defender. Trossard is now our No 1 LWB with Trossard knowing that it’s his best chance of starting in the World Cup for Belgium in this position. The £30m extra gets us a nice little kitty for another future superstar.
Colwill and circa £35m/£40m for Cucu sounds a much better deal for us.
We have the Tross to play LWB and if we need a left sided Defender ( which we will do if Cucu leaves) then Colwill gives us that. He’s a very talented prospect getting attention from numerous other clubs including that lot...
While I think that this is a possibility, it will show that they have capitulated and I don’t think they’ll want to do that.
They have ‘walked away’ from other signings and I think they’ll do that with Cucurella. Time will tell.
Like every fan base, City have a few idiots, but so do we.
They want their club to buy the best players available, as do we within our budget.
City have previously overpaid for players and come under the microscope of FFP. We don't want to sell one of our prized assets this season, unless for...
