From the BBC
"Former Newcastle United Under-23s coach Peter Beardsley has been suspended from all football-related activity for 32 weeks after being found to have been racially abusive to players.
He was charged by the Football Association with...
I put this on the Potter thread but perhaps it deserves its own thread. Wales on line saying that Potter wants to bring Dan James with him. Not that I'd heard of him before a couple of days ago but a highly rated young winger apparently with Man Utd and THE Leeds after him.
"We can now reveal...
BBC:
Former Brighton boss Oscar Garcia has left his job at Israeli club Maccabi Tel Aviv because of the "current security situation" in the country.
Garcia is set to be replaced by former Liverpool assistant coach Pako Ayestaran.
Garcia has been linked with the manager's job at Fulham should...
Recreating the scary atmosphere of the 70s Brian McDermott wants the Leeds players to march onto the pitch like soldiers and wave to the crowd. They are also going to get the music going before the match. I think that I'm too scared to go to Elland Road now. Plus I can't be arsed...

Singer, guitarist and all round genius John Martyn has died. Not as recognised as his friend and contemporary Nick Drake, John was equally as talented. He never got to pick up his OBE
RIP John.
Unfortunately I can't now go to see this exhibition at the British Museum, which is a real shame as it is supposed to be pretty good. I have 2 adult and 2 child tickets for this Friday 14th March, entry between 10:20 and 10:30. Please PM me if you fancy taking them off my hands maybe for a...
Without wishing to sound like a flash git, I am in Tokyo this week (19th - 23rd) and then off to Sydney at the weekend, and then Hong Kong on Wed / Thu before flying home again. It's business but I'm still pretty excited to visit these places for the first time.
If any ex-pat Seagulls fancy...
We have seagulls nesting on our roof as we do every bloody year. Their nest is on a cluster of four chimney pots.
I am working in our newly decorated office (nice white and cream decor) which has a fireplace which has been cleared and is an empty hole with a a board slotted in at the chimney...
Very sad news that Malian guitarist Ali Farka Toure died in his sleep last night. His duet albums with Ry Cooder (Talking Timbuktu) and Toumani DIabate (In The Heart of the Moon) both received Grammys, the latter only a week or two ago.
He'd been fighting bone cancer for a while and the...
From the Argus Letters today:
TROLLEY TRAVELS
With regard to Mr Moores' letter "Return of our trolleys" (Feb 8), I have noticed a trolley from as fas afield as south-east London appearing on the South Coast.
Granted, this trolley was sent packing as quickly as it appeared but what could...

Good, bad, popular or obscure...

Okay and mine is
"How Do You Know" by Suckle from their Against Nurture album.
I'll class that as obscure then.
Or is it just me?
