[Politics] Donald Trump 2024

Thunder Bolt

Silly old bat
I don't think the two are remotely comparable. No British PM has ever lied even close to as much as Trump, and where they have lied they've been called out and the media has generally accepted the truth. We don't have this 'fake news' nonsense over proven facts here. People who were labour supporters voted for Boris, hopeful he could improve things for them. I imagine most feel let down and will return to Labour, with many people who have been Tory voters joining them at the next election.

Sure you get some people who won't accept reality (my in-laws still support Boris, and believe it was all a witch hunt). But most don't, and the Tory party distanced themselves from Boris because he was a charlatan, whereas the Republicans are going with Trump again despite, well, everything.
I know of several people who think Johnson was hard done by and there are factions of the Tory party, even now, who want to ditch Sunak before the electio, to get Boris back. My sister in law, for one.

That‘s a lot of money coming into the coffers without providing any services…other than government access.
There’s plenty of proof, you’re just not interested in hearing it.
and why has he not been charged? Perhaps you’d like to list Trumps foreign payments to show us just how fair and equitable you are?

I can understand a Republican wanting a Republican to win, but why aren’t retired Republicans like George Bush endorsing him?
There are Republicans against Trump, however.

I've got a lot of admiration for people, especially Republicans, publicly saying this. They have nothing to gain while making themselves a target for Trump supporters and for the retribution of Trump himself should he gain power again. Let's hope many others have the same courage.

Thats a clearly compromised committee, using language as "peddled" implies impartiality to my mind. Furthermore some of which the links between Hunter Biden and Rosemont Seneca Thornton being declared as fact may not be fact:

Not half as worried as last time around I was expecting disaster but he just sat on his arse for 4 years which was a lot nicer than say George Bush. Corporate America is a lot more powerful than political America for good and evil and in this case maybe good

But I think those people are in the minority, which is why he won't be winning the next election. We can't be so sure about Trump, who is far far worse.

Of course a worry but was a worry last time not much happened understand people are worried but he is a talker not a doer. Some of his talk like exiting Nato could never happen there are limits to what presidents can and cant do before more persistent power structures obstruct the maddest ideas. Dont have much faith in America but enough to think they wouldnt let this orange bum cause too much damage

Do you not grow weary of swinging and missing? I haven’t heard you say one positive thing about Trump, your focus has been entirely on trying to discredit Biden.

And as @tedebear pointed out above, everything you’ve got melts under closer examination. Quite apart from anything else, Hunter Biden isn’t Joe Biden, and doesn’t hold a position within government. Unlike Trump, Biden hasn’t filled senior posts with most of his immediate family. Another point where Trump suffers when compared to Biden.

Trump is an aggressive bully, he’s the kid at school who wherever he places in any test or challenge will boastfully tell everyone they won really, and then list why those placed above him don’t really count. It’s never his fault. He’s the BESTEST and the WINNINGEST ever. Reality must bend to fit his narrative.

Don’t vote that in as president. You’ve already tried it once, nothing improved.

Trump is a property developer for heavens sake. A wanna be dictator, just in it for himself. He is simply using people to further his own aims. He tells the disenfranchised what they want to hear. He tells them he'll stick it to the man. He makes up lies and says them so often people believe them as truth. He divides people, keeps them scared of the lies he creates, then tells the people he'll protect them from those lies. Who invented "fake news", why the very man who pedals it the most... Trump the property developer who is deluded and taking those who are sick of politics for a ride...He is in it for no one but himself...

It will be interesting to watch how he handles himself in court next Monday, if he turns up.

As President Trump, would you ban abortion? See the clip from 1999.
Not defending him but he did say that the Arizona total ban ‘goes too far’ - an impressive conciliatory position indeed for a misogynistic, serial sex offender (according to scores of women) - an emotional retard who thinks women’s bodies have no value at all other than to be objectified and serve his predatory behaviour.

You aren't suggesting....that he'll say anything to anyone . . . . to maximise leverage and traction . . . regardless of the content or how it was all different when he addressed another lot of people earlier? And so on? Shirley Knott? ???
