Possibly the shortest album ever made. Quality songs but a total pisstake in terms of playing time.
You may want to give it another spin, its 35:45 long.

Just two random albums

My Aim Is True - Elvis Costello 27:10
Please Please Me - The Beatles 30:30

And no doubt loads more than come in at under 35 minutes

Slayer's legendary Reign in Blood album is just 28 minutes. The story is that it was originally going to longer but they were so pumped up in the studio it came out a lot faster and shorter.

Was going to post My Aim Is True but as I haven’t forgotten it I didn’t. As you’ve mentioned it though under brevity, what an album! The fact that the tracks are short matters not a jot - Alison is positively lengthy at well over 3 minutes but this classic track is short and to the point - brilliant!

On the subject of short albums Young Fathers from last year was only just over half hour, possibly why it's so good

with albums coming in at under 45 minutes it meant you could get two albums on a c90 tape to put on your Walkman.
Yes indeed. My recollection from my old vinyl albums is that they were usually 20 to 22 minutes per side and they would fit on one side of a C90. When I bought the raw and the cooked on CD I was surprised at how short it was. I'm surprised to hear that it's 36 minutes long. I would have put it at under 30 minutes without checking.

Yet he released Quadrophenia at 81 minutes playing time and Tommy at 75 minutes playing time. Who's Next is 45 minutes long.
Quadrophenia and Tommy both double albums on vinyl……

It's an absolutely brilliant song by an absolutely brilliant musician

Some sources suggest that this is why pop albums became longer than 45 minutes. To stop home taping killing music.

As an aside cds we're 74minutes capacity as that was the length of Beethoven's 9th symphony. (which I am sure many if you know ... but some may not).

Three albums I wouldn’t have paid good money for normally however they were the best three the Britannia Music Club had to offer, and as I was moving house three weeks later the price turned out to be about right.
