Couple of points, remote control well i am no savvy person on software but even i know that R/C has been around 20+ years and it been done on our P/C. As for Ed Davey although it's unlikely hopefully a recall petition is set-up for him to face.

Many of those convicted need their convictions overturned. The lady in Hampshire is a cleaner because she couldnt get another job.

A small minority of these people may genuinely be guilty of something. Our justice system is at stake if all of these people have their convictions over-turned en masse. None of them should fast track the legal system its there for everyone no exceptions. There are always injustices and these must all be looked at in full but no jump to conclusions. I fully support this government and hope Rishi is not bearing to pressure from the public to act en masse and quickly. What about every other case of appeal? No one has a right to claim their case is any more worthy of review than the next person. That is out justice system. We all play a part,mine is catching ppl believed to have committed but the courts decide and over-turn convictions not political parties or political pressure groups or social media campaigns etc., that is completely wrong.

Not remote control, remote access. IT support staff can't do their jobs without remote access to live data.
I don't believe the PO truly thought Fujitsu did not have live data access.

Totally disagree. The only justification for that view is to ensure as many solicitors and barristers collect their £200+ an hour for as many hours as possible. The main argument the abolitionists put forward for the end of the death penalty was that occasionally an innocent person would be executed. very fair point.
IF 700 odd convictions are quashed en mass, without lawyers and barristers raking in their usual bounty, it is only the lawyers and barristers that will lose out, not the justice system. If (and it's a bloody big if) a handful of those who have their convictions quashed had actually stolen a few quid, that is still justice. Remember the statue (and the essence) of justice has the sword of retribution in one hand and the scales of justice in the other.
OK, which side of the scales of justice are you on? A minimal number of people get away with stealing a few quid (a pathetically small amount compared to what the Post Office has stolen) or more people die in poverty and despair before they are justly cleared. If your priority is dragging it on until every case has been pored over by well paid legal eagles happily hitching their fortunes to the justice system gravy train, lining their pockets with hundreds of thousands of pounds - well, if that's your idea of justice, well, justice is f***ed.

You are about as wrong as anyone could be, and judging by your username and post, this is very worrying.
Firstly the job of a police officer is to protect the public and to investigate crime, not catching people... investigating crime. There's a subtle difference where one leads to justice and the other to the arrest of both the innocent and the guilty.
As said above the base of our justice is that it is better for the guilty to walk free than the innocent to be convicted. So it is better the innocent SPMs get their convictions quashed quickly (if 20 years can be considered quick!) than the potential for guilty people to have their convictions quashed.
Lastly the I don't think anyone is jumping to conclusions regarding SPMs, to acknowledge there are injustices but suggest people shouldn't jump to conclusions (again 2 decades in) reflects the wider issues with the police and the judiciary.

You make a great point. Hillsborough also took a tv dramatisation to raise the public awareness of the wrongdoing and to light fires under people in power. (I am not being political as hillsborough same as this has politicians of all hues with some element of responsibility)
Television when done well can tell stories, provide human insight and explain facts in a way very few other media can.
