[Albion] “Don’t call it a Derby!”

I’m Not complaining about people calling it a rivalry rather than a derby etc. it’s the it’s not a derby thing that annoys me, the pedantic and arrogant nature of it.

[Albion] “Don’t call it a Derby!”

I heard this said on various bits of coverage before and after the game, so much so it’s becoming more annoying than the A23/M23 derby moniker! Can’t we just let people call it what they like? When did football fans get so pedantic over such trivial things?

[Albion] Poll: Are you going to the Brentford game?

This is the culture the club has created. It’s all about on field success and ambition over any kind of sentimentality or supporter appreciation. Just look at the way they treated Chris Hughton.

Assuming it doesn’t get postponed… Well?

    Jim White

Depends on the circumstances of course. But I wouldn’t judge someone for doing it. Have you read Gullhanger by Mike Ward on the subject? Worth a read.

    [Albion] Favourite Albion Hat Tricks

Thorne’s certainly was per the last set of records I’ve seen, his hat-trick was achieved in 4 minutes on his way to getting 5 that day.

Still no votes for Thorne. Albion’s greatest equivalent to a one hit wonder?

“Be careful what you wish for Brighton fans” - How the football world owes us an apology

Ironically this thread is full of arrogance. No one owes us an apology. Yes. We’ve marginally stayed up more comfortably than in previous seasons and Potter has improved the team. Not that anyone saw that coming after the Palace defeat 5 games ago. Either way, the ends don’t justify the...

    [Albion] Favourite Albion Hat Tricks

As today is Alex Revell’s birthday, scorer of a memorable hat trick on New Year’s Day 2008 in a dramatic 3-2 win over Bournemouth, I want to know what your favourite Albion hat trick is? If I had to choose a favourite it would be Darren Freeman’s against Mansfield in the first game at Withdean...

[Albion] The masterstroke of dropping Potterball

Agreed. Potter’s style is very much horses for courses. Maty Ryan’s distribution in some ways sets up the way we play and it’s varied a lot even post lockdown.

    [Albion] Jesse Lingard

He Strikes me as a bit of a similar type to Lee Sharpe. Talented young player, but seemingly become more interested with life off the field and starting to effect him on the field. Wouldn’t be surprised if he quickly fell down the leagues. No idea why a club would pay this amount for him!?
