Palace away c.1985/1986, aged 8. Henry Hughton broke Gerry Ryan’s leg. The ‘crack’ was audible from the stands. Danny Wilson’s leadership was very visible that day and made an impression on me.

The BBC is not perfect and I agree that the “despite Brexit” quotes are an example of engrained assumptions. That said, BBC news is criticised by both those on the left and the right. Personally, I think it’s pretty neutral.
By comparison, C4 with Jon Snow is overtly left-leaning (perhaps...
Amazing that we managed to persuade Leeds to part with one of their brightest young prospects, especially one who has been personally mentored by Bielsa more or less since his first steps!

So good in open play, with some excellent passes, yet you have a sense that we would concede fewer goals with a more conventional centre half in the side. When you don’t score many, it has to be a consideration. I wonder whether GP may consider keeping Lamptey at right back but bringing Veltman...
Surprised at all those saying Dunk. He is a great player but in my view has some way to go to distinguish himself as a captain.

For those of us who cannot quite remember Nobby and Fozzie (first time around) it’s got to be Danny Wilson - fierce competitor, penalty taker and all round competitor.

It’s slightly ironic that he broke the club record to become the youngest player and goalscorer, but is now said to be playing his best football at 33 and is sometimes spoken of as a ‘late developer’.
I wonder if Jake had been born a decade later and had benefited from the set up we now have at...
I like Warren too - you get the inside track that comes from him being an ex-pro / BHAFC insider - yet he's not afraid to criticise the club. That said, I think he belongs in the category of 'summariser' rather than 'commentator'.
With a lack of current Albion action to feast upon, I've been enjoying some of the old videos on the club website - particularly those involving our ever-partisan (in a good way) local commentators. For me, the best local match day commentator blends broadcasting professionalism, an articulate...
Ryan - 6. Okay but might have done better with the goal.
Maupay - 6. Defensively solid but offers nothing going forward.
Dunk - 8. Composed on the ball. Won tackles. Unlucky not to score.
Our best player.
Webster - 7. Good game. Won most things in the air and looked composed.
Burn - 6.5...
Except for their goal, that is, when Duffy completely failed to defend, stood off, stood off, then showed Doucoure the inside. Thought he looked uncomfortable throughout.

Main lesson the same as the first half against West Ham: don’t compromise our principles - stick to Potterball. Reverting to a Hughtonball hybrid with aimless long balls and an absence of pace in the side and an uncomfortable-looking Duffy at centre half will not get the results we’re looking...
Thought we looked awful in the first half when we went long ball. Every punt / goal kick from Ryan became 50:50 and we invariably lost possession. At half time, I was struggling to think of any meaningful contributions from Glenn.
Much better in the second half when we regained our football...
