He’s not wrong though is he? We have great height in the team but are absolutely fecking useless at making it count from corners. How many headed goals, in fact how many goals did we score from set pieces last season?

As a random example Burnley, last game of the season (whilst not scoring) had us shitting ourselves with the quality of their corners and the fact that their players seemed to get on the end of most of them, even though we have plenty of height in defence.

Don’t see Ben White adding much on the heading front either.

oh blimey, really? i better get on the blower to vic and let him know.

spains number 9 and germany's centre back are a step up on a player who had one good season in the english second division.

anyway, i don't come here on a wind up nor to rile people and appears i have hit a nerve with bevendean hillbilly so will bow out and leave you all to it. my stance is the same, thanks for the effort white but onwards and upwards. he is a good guy and i hope for his sake he can step up (hope you lot have someonw who can work on headers) and do well for you.

I don't think you have hit a nerve with @BevendeanHillbilly but the problem is with all Leeds fans they post lies and deluded crap, but when asked to provide the evidence, they don't. The fans posted on Waccoe say that we want £40 million, Brighton have said he is not for sale, they have never quoted a price for him. If that was the case why did Leeds only bother to bid apparently £25 million plus add on's?I

The report about turning down 3 contract offers was also first posted from fans on the same forum, again when asked to provide evidence, nothing. I am on the understanding that this is not true as when this was posted, White was not even in the country, let alone reported back to the club for pre season training.
Again another question was why did Bielsa turn White down before the loan move to Peterborough, if he is that good he would have seen the potential in him, just like your scouts did when they put his name forward and Leeds first enquired about a possible loan.

Leeds were rightly promoted, because they finished top of the Championship, not because they were once a big team. past glories mean nothing to me and a lot of us so called little teams, it's history, what happens now and the coming season is all that matters.

The lack of goals scored from set-pieces is a curious one. Highlighted yesterday by Stat Brother posting a bunch of great pinpoint crosses from Gross, most of which ended up three feet wide or over the bar.

Have to say, I do find it a bit odd that he hasn’t updated his Twitter acc...perhaps he’ll just start a new one as Ben3White and leave the Leeds numpties dangling with the dormant one.
Not sure why it has bugged me so much, I’m sure he’s got more important things to do but youngsters are usually all over this kind of thing. I assume it’s the same with his Instaaaa...I refuse to join the land of ‘selfie sharing’

You can relax slightly, he has updated his Instagram.

Not being funny but a lot of footballers probably aren’t super capable with their social media pages. Maybe he doesn’t care about Twitter as much, or he’ll get his agent to update it when the contract is announced.

He won’t be totally settled here until his new contract is signed...imo

I don’t know how true the speculation about GP wanting to see him a bit more before he decides if he really is good enough for a substantial new contract offer is. Sounds eminently to me. Being a superstar for Leeds in the Championship does not make him a top class PL footballer. We are looking to improve on just surviving.

100% correct. I don’t think anyone’s being overly harsh (and I really don’t appreciate others implication we should adjust our case if Starry is a woman or not, seems slightly sexist)

But we’ve had this same nonsense peddled as facts pretty much all summer by Leeds fans. And it’s frustrating to see the same mistruths and waffle espoused still again. Especially by a member of our board.

it's me paddy anyway, not the mrs and she'd be mortified to think she got different treatment just because she doesn't have a penis.

ben was in the country when 'rumour' of him declining a new deal at brighton crept out. anyway, he's your player you and him can do as you wish, i hope he can step up and play with the big kids, and while some leeds fans - who not so long ago watched gregan and butler in defense and get giddy easily may have convinced themselves he is maldini's love child, he isn't. the championship was poor even by championship standards last year, we were an OK team but you didn't have to be amazing in that league to do well. The gulf is huge for him to make now, vardy etc., are different class to grabban and co. i hope he is able to do well, we'll see in a few years.

I agree about the quality of the Championship last season. Looked poor from what I saw of it. However, if that applies to Ben White, it applies to your squad too. Players like Ayling and Cooper will have the same issues. Yet I see some of your fans talking about top half easily, or even top six

Taking into account what you’ve said about the quality of the Championship last season and the step up to the Premier League, this makes the outrageous claims of “staying up easily” even more absurd. Rodrigo and Koch could be decent signings but there’s still a remarkably underwhelming squad available.

I don’t really believe the 3 turned down stuff personally. Surely you negotiate until both party’s are clearly happy. Sky do get a fair bit wrong on there too.
I do not see how 3 offers were turned down when Brighton would have said no to the first and should have said Ben White is not for sale you are wasting your time. Maybe they just wanted to push his value up?

Thanks for the part reply to my post, we will have to disagree on White being in the country, you could always look back in this thread to where I originally debunked the debate about the refused contracts. You seem one of the rational Leeds fan who post on here, something that I like about NSC, It is open to any fan of any team who also can get away with a fair bit of unbalanced crap, unfortunately as soon as you post anything on Waccoe that is against Leeds, your post is taken down and your banned.
Any reason why Bielsa hasn't signed his contract yet, I want him to just to see you if he is as good as Leeds think.
Hopefully we will hear more from you over the season as to how Leeds and your new signings are doing.

Don't tar Starry with the same brush as the knobheads. He might have made a mistake with the "valuation" bullshit (created by Leeds fans) but then lots of people have.

Talking to a Liverpool mate the other day, I had to totally reeducate him about the FACTS of the Ben White situation as he'd just seen the crap on Sky and social media (Leeds driven nonsense).

As someone mentioned previously, this is actually a really good example of how fake news works. It's easy to fool thick people with bias, but once the bullshit snowballs then even those without bias start believing it.

"Well Sky reported it so it must be true" (Sky then report the opposite two days later).

"It was on the BBC website that he 'might want to leave'" (regurgitated from some tweet by an ex Leeds player who knows nothing)

Etc.

It's actually ****ing scary, because nobody digs any deeper and you could basically make up anything and echo chamber it until it's "fact".

Brexit/Trump/Leeds. It's all the same, but only the last one is actually funny.

Bang on mate - it’s sad we have to dig about re sources and most wrong ones get forgotten but I constantly have chats with people who pass things off as fact when usually they’re a bullshit media report etc. People just believe so much they read if they’re a little stupid
